I thought mine sounded weak too. I was using a small amp to start off with. I didn’t feel too well yesterday. So, I didn’t mess with it much.
MINGMemberGot it!!!
MINGMemberToo bad it wasn’t Memory Boy floating around in there.
I wouldn’t worry. Atleast it is a nut and a bolt. Not just a nut that came loose or something. Understand?
MINGMemberI have one.
I like the BF a lot. It most certainly fattens up your tone. Though it fattens it, it doesn’t color it. I find that it is one of those leave it on all the time pedals. Only time that I turn it off is if I’m running some heavy fuzz or distortion.
A cool trick is that you can clip your signal. The distortion/break-up isn’t that bad either.
A minor dislike is that the power adapter jack is on the side. If you are cramming pedals together. It sometimes gets in the way.
I’m also chasing a slight noise when I use humbuckers. I tried a couple different guitars w/ HB. I’ll make a clip up. When I listen to it, there is a slight fuzz/crackle as the note is decaying. Singles and P90’s, I have no problem with.
The 2 minor things that I mentioned are easily overlooked, atleast by me. It is a decent pedal.
MINGMemberThanks AGAIN.
We need an EHX “bat-signal”, for F&E.
MINGMemberQuote:Quote:The time between finding out about a product from EHX and it coming out seems to vary between a few weeks and eight months.Don’t expect Scott to just give up the EHX secrets! Us volunteer moderators can’t even get anything out of him!
exactly, where did the white finger spring from, I didn’t know about that!!
Guitar Center .com
MINGMemberI have a Gibson LP Jr, where the original owner put a GFS P90 in it. I don’t know why he took out the Gibson P90??? Anyway, I really like the pickup. Might be that I just like the P90, but the GFS pickup is quality, imho.
I installed Seymour Duncan AlNiCo II Pros in my LP. Yes, big Slash fan. I like them, but I’m growing tired of them. I’m wanting a LP w/ P90’s for a bit now.
MINGMemberI used to play hockey at the War Memorial, quite a bit. When I was younger, that is.
If it is related to Dr Matt’s link. I tried a #1 Echo out and the one I tried did have a volume drop. Maybe put a boost after it???
MINGMemberThanks
MINGMemberThe XO Worm has an expression jack.
For the “big box” ones, maybe a Third Hand would work?
MINGMemberI’ve heard that it is quieter. There are ways to make the “big box”, less noisy.
MINGMemberYou are welcome.
MINGMemberHere is how mine is.
Volts, 9 o’clock
Bias, 9 o’clock
I’ll strum and hold a chord.
I’ll turn the Bias knob clockwise.
When the Bias knob is at around 11 o’clock, the sound cuts out.
Counter clockwise and once I go past 11 o’clock, signal comes back.
Same thing when it is like so,
Volts, 12 o’clock
Bias, 12 o’clock
Turn the Bias knob clockwise
Around 4 o’clock, the sound cuts out.
Counter clockwise and past 4 and the signal comes back
Is this what you are experiencing?
If so, this is normal. One of the pedal building gurus can tell you why.MINGMemberQuote:what do you mean”set far apart”?Say the bias is at 9 o’clock and the volts knob is at 4 o’clock.
Give me a few minutes. I’ll go hook my GeOD up to my computer room board.
MINGMemberDo you mean, when you have the bias and volts set far apart, there is no sound? If so, yes, that is normal.
If you mean, while actually turning the knob, the sound cuts out? I dunno if mine does this. I will check in a little bit.
