I have tried the original big muff in the past, not extencivelly though.. So I will just turn the wicker OFF and the Tone ON,so I have an original muff.

The original muff sound is more dark and dump, even as you turn the tone towards treble.

So,when I turn the tone OFF, the sound livens up and it has more …depth? the sound is more ALIVE. the volume boosts up ,but thats another story.

Also, when turning the wicker ON along with the tone kill, you have an entirely different sound. The Wicker adds more Treble and Mids ,but it doesnt buzz. It livens up the sound in general.

So,for closing, first time I heard the muff I liked it a lot,but after obtaining the one with the wicker, I dont think I would use it without the wicker setting ON.It sounds amazing. Glad to be of help ;D

You gotta be kiddin me.. I have the DS-2 since I was a 16 year old metalhead and I didnt really use it because of the weak distortion, but now I think its quite decent..
I dont play metal anymore (and I am very happy about it) and I also got away from friggin Line6 this summer when I gave my digital calculat..err I mean Spider 2 for a Marshall Valvestate (not really good, but better than Line6 digitalism).
My first 2 pedals were the Holy Stain and Zvex Fuzz Factory, and now I got the big muff. I gave the fuzz factory ,after I tamed it,but still, you have to know that whatever people say IT CAN NOT be used as your main distortion. I had it taped on my guitar and played with the feedback it gave. It was quite good and entertaining but I dont recommend it unless you have a complete set of effects and you wanna spend money on flashy things.
As for the delay ,I think that the Boss DD2 is an all time classic, although I try to stay away from digital effects. Aaaah, the holy stain was also DSP but it didnt sound like one.

The one thing I want to purchase after the holy grail is a Wah pedal. I have a 30 dollar one,and I dont even know its name, but like all the cheap ones, once you engage it,you have a whole bunch of TREBLE AND MIDS and it really sucks, you have any recommendations?

ps : did you get the mustang just to put its bridge on the jazz master? Should I do the same? My Jaguar ships in 2 weeks or so :P

Yeah,I know. But I think the small clone has made such a fuzz with Kurt Cobain, that in combination with my Jaguar and the big muff would make me look like a SMALL CLONE,if you know what I mean ;) thanx for the interest though. (I love the small clone sound but everytime I play a tune with this mother fuhrer,I think I’m ripping off the Nevermind LP )

Thanks for the reply. I didnt really like the distortion nor the fuzz,If I might say, only for the reason they didnt have a responsive tone on them, they were too generic. So 2 days ago I got the Bigg Muff with wicker. And I must say… OMG. The wicker setting along with the tone cut make an excellent sound. The original big muff was too “dark” and “damp”. I think thats the reason you use the LPB-1.
And I am looking forward for the Holy Grail. I tried it and I must say I am amazed.
As for the knobs on the holy stain,I didnt misuse them at all,so I guess it was a factory flaw.and I could have saved it by using the EHX service.

    Thanks ;)
