if EHX made a pedal that mimics the sound of a sitar I would be all over it like white on rice.

Soon to come…Tube Zipper, Germaium OD (maybe?), Moog Ring Mod, maybe a BOSS Giga Delay, Small Stone, Graphic Fuzz…so many pedals, so little time!!What size of board is that? (For reference)
it is the same one Fender&EHX4ever;has. It is the rondomusic.com board…size is their Gigantic pedal case…measures 45 1/4″ long by 16 9/16″ wide
mhuxtableMemberHa I will see what I can do
mhuxtableMemberThe Holy Stain is very cool, its just a weird animal. I for one think the 2 reverbs are worth the $100. That alone sold me. The fuzz sound is pretty good if you are into that sort of thing and the Warm, Bright and Dark settings are very true to their labels. To me, the distortion sounds absolutely stupid…I never use it. The Trem is nice sounding…pretty useful. The pitch bend to me is the weakest feature…I mean who only wants a pitch bend that goes a 4th down to a 3rd up? No 5ths? And to be honest, the tracking sucks. Even with single notes there is a NOTICEABLE delay between the 2 notes.
But like I said, I use it mainly for the reverbs and the trem. That Hall reverb is so lush and the overtones that are produced are so amazing…it really is almost organ like. With the expression pedal, I can easily transition from a really washed out sound to a normal reverb for strumming & whatnot. And if you are into fuzz, it gives a nice fuzz as well.
mhuxtableMembermhuxtableMemberThe Holy Stain does not come with a foot pedal. But the instructions give you a list of pedals that can work, including pedals from BOSS, M Audio, Moog, etc…If you go over to the “Post Your Pedal Board” thread, my pedal board is on the newest page & I have a Holy Stain with the M Audio expression pedal. It’s the cheapest out of the bunch, but is also less sturdy than others, but I don’t stop it to death so I’m not really worried.
PS…the expression pedal controls the Amount knob on ANY of the 4 settings (room, hall, pitch & trem)…So you can not only change the pitch bend but also change the amount of reverb or the rate of the trem.
mhuxtableMemberYeah it’s just that everytime I hear a Qtron, all I can hear is that funk, disco wakka wakka kind of sound…where as with the Tube Zipper, if offers some features I feel I like better and that are more suited to my style of music.
mhuxtableMemberI haven’t played one yet…I think I’m really gonna use it less for the distortion…more for the envelope (I don’t see myself using a really heavy envelope either) & the trill & the oscilation (sp?) that can occur…
I actually just found out that I got back like almost $400 from my health insurance for overpaying earlier in the year! So I think I’ll be able to get the Wiggler AND Tube Zipper! haha.
But I try to wait to see what comes up on Craigslist…I always get more with less you know?
mhuxtableMemberSo here it is (FINALLY). The beginings of my pedal board!! See all that free space? Yeah that won’t be there for long. Soon to come…Tube Zipper, Germaium OD (maybe?), Moog Ring Mod, maybe a BOSS Giga Delay, Small Stone, Graphic Fuzz…so many pedals, so little time!!
mhuxtableMemberi believe you are refering to the vocoder setting. with a vocoder, your voice will sound out whatever notes the input signal is playing, so yes it is an autotune like feature, but your voice will not sound natural. it will sound like it is coming out of whatever instrument you are playing (fuzzed guitar, synth, etc)
otherwise, that is the SINGER singing different notes, and the voice box finds the harmonies based on the chords you are playing and the notes you are singing.
mhuxtableMemberi see a holy grail and maybe a small stone or a bad stone?
mhuxtableMemberyes he featured some settings…the audio quality was subpar…you’re right, he’s NOT a singer (would you use a non guitar player to demo a guitar pedal?)…a lot of the notes are flat or pitchy, therefore making the harmonies sound bad. i just figure, if you are going to demo a pedal (that jack conte has demoed TWICE and did an incredible job) that you would make sure you can fully use it, and this pedal requires a good voice to start with.
for instance, i would NEVER demo a pedal like a big muff or graphic fuzz to show the nice sustain and harmonix because i don’t solo & shred…i would not be able to make the pedal sound good or use it to its full potential…and most importantly, i would not be able to convince someone to buy the thing.
the jack conte videos make me want to buy the voice box, that video did not.
mhuxtableMembertotally awesome. what a great work visually as well as metaphorically.
mhuxtableMemberI don’t mean to be rude…but did anyone else think that sucked.
mhuxtableMemberI have the rondo pedal board too (hence the thanks to Fender&EHX;)…I REALLY like it. only thing is the tape it comes with is shit, so youll have to go get some velcro tape from home depot or something. But it feels really solid, The hinges are nice…can’t complain.
