melxMemberQuote:Do you have technical documentation for the other pedals?
GGG do a foxx clone, I have one… mmm, damn I would have liked that case to put it in!!
melxMemberSounds fine to me…. it’s in tune which is all that matters really…. stop worrying and enjoy!!!!
melxMemberQuote:got the big muff pi working yesterday… hopefully have the poly flange going in the next day or so…anybody know.. are the output jacks grounded to anything? i have the positive (tip) lines sorted out, but cant figure out if the output grounds are supposed to be wired up anywhere…
the outputs are grounded to the input through the metal case
melxMemberI’d probably just use a battery to be honest, it will last ages in a fuzz pedal.
EHX recommend their own power supply of course.
“The optional 9V power supply from Electro-Harmonix is 9.6DC-200BI (same as used by Boss® & Ibanez®) 9.6 Volts DC 200mA” but like they say it’s just a standard boss type. I’ve had problems with a 1-spot in the past and I ended up selling it…. it was fine for 90% of the pedals but there was always a few that didn’t like it for some unknown reason, even using it on their own.
melxMemberwow, that’s cool…. I’ve never seen one ‘in the flesh’ so to speak.
Congrats!!
melxMemberdoes it work fine on a battery?
if so then it’s the one spot it doesn’t like… are you daisy chaining it or running it on it’s own? Some pedals don’t like sharing power supplies.
melxMemberan old akai rack sampler?
there is usually loads of this kind of thing on ebay, I don’t know much about them though….
melxMemberthe other option is to buy an official UK power supply (which is the same voltage)
then get a UK power board like this to plug it in to…
…and just change the plug for a AUS one, you’d then have 3 spare sockets if you need to plug anything else in (with the same situation) and an extention cord.
you could of course do the same with a EU version too.
If you need to help finding the cheapest UK version give me a shout.
melxMemberIt’s almost impossible to value anything that doesn’t get listed on ebay regularly (like big muffs) Good Condition later versions can be had pretty cheaply though.
this one here went for $61
I suspect yours might be worth double that as it’s older and boxed etc. … it’s kind of hard to say.
melxMemberQuote:I have looked in goggle and not seen one like this.
Is it unique or valuable?
See video …
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWAyHGdxi5o&list=QL&playnext=1Not unique but pretty rare, probably quite valuable to a collector, but I have no idea how much someone would be prepared to pay for it as, like you say, you don’t see them often.
melxMemberQuote:Hey, I just tried your recommendation on the “Zero Depth” and turns out it actually has a slight boost as well; Not enough to actually use it as a boost though, but definitelly a sliiiiiiiiiiight boost. thank for de-mythifying the myth on Tremolos guys! :rawk:yeah, it’s because the effect itself lowers the volume down and back to unity, not up and down.. so you are only hearing the signal at ‘normal volume’ for a small amount of time, if you run the pedal in stereo it pans left to right (rather than lowering the volume) so you don’t get the volume loss effect.

Thanks for offering :thumb:I happened to have an old momentary footswitch lying around, and I had a couple of old pancake style stereo plugs. I just soldered it together tonight, and presto… I have a reset switch that resyncs these machines. I just tested it out, and it works a charm.
And thank you, Cryabetes, for the momentary switch idea. Brilliant.
nice one. glad you sorted it…..
so explain again in simple terms, what exactly does this let you do?

I have no clue, but if it’s some kind of TRS a/b thing it won’t be a problem.
melxMemberalso…. ‘full wet’ ‘full depth’ or whatever you want to call it should be around 2 o’clock on the dial.
…but I presume you know that already.
