Oh great no one will trust me there since I just signed up…

Well I know several of us here use HC, so you can make references to them. It never hurts to try. I personally try to never make a deal with a user with no history though

Ooo the trading in harmony central looks appealing, but how does that work? Do people just trust each other to send the pedal when doing a trade…or what?

Yup. Normally you both just ship it out, and trust one another to provide a tracking number or something like that. If you’re doing a trade+cash, or the person really really wants your pedal, you can say that you have to have the cash before you ship, or you want to check their pedal before you ship. The risk of losing status in the community is what helps people stay honest. Never trust anyone without a history there either.

I now know who is playing the super bowl. I have no idea. I don’t follow sports at all. I got my football fix from being forced to every game in high school due to band.

I’ve been listening to the Raconteurs all day and trying to pick out some of Jack Lawrence’s board. He’s the bassist btw.

On “Attention” I think I’m hearing POG, and maybe a Muff? I know he also has a English Muff’n, so it may be that. Could anyone else take a listen to it and let me know what they think? It seems like its has a very slight octave up, as well as the clean signal.

To be smashed is a noble destiny for a guitar I say. Guitars are like eggs in that way: Some will grow to be chickens, some will be broken along the way. Either way, delicious. And either way, I eat it up. :metal:

I tend to disagree with guitar smashing. There’s never a reason to need to smash it. If you’re tired of it, don’t like it, or its failed you in someway and you don’t want to keep it, why not give it to a kid? Some kids can’t afford to buy a guitar, or even get anything decent. Think of the Karma of passing on the gift of music.

I would like to disagree with it, but unfortunatly seeing Pete Townsend smashing guitars is probably the single most powerful and exciting thing I’ve ever seen anyone do on a stage….that’s good enough reason for me….there’s a little montage towards the end of ‘the kids are alright’ where they’ve cut together Pete smashing about 20 guitars, I know it’s effecting me at a very base level of my emotion spectrum, but I can’t deny it’s totally absorbing and thrilling to watch and hear.

That’s what I’m saying. Watching Pete Townsend and Jimi destroy guitars did more for my desire to rock than anyone handing me a guitar when I was a kid. I mean that’s cool too. I just gave an old Ibanez to my 13 year old nephew. But even though he asked for it, he won’t be into it until he sees someone do something with the guitar that ignites his passion in the same way, maybe smashing it, maybe by doing something crazy, like playing it well.

I’ll settle for this. It may not be cool to smash your guitar per se, but it is definitely cooler than wiping your guitar down with a diaper and fast fret stuff.

Oh yeah, I definitely agree with a few guitar smashes out there. Townshend, Hendrix, Cobain, they all smashed their guitars with a passion and intensity representative of their art. For your average guitar player, on a hobbyist sort of level, it seems forced and kind of over done. I agree that destruction and chaos is an important of rock and roll. And I totally agree that watching some of the guitar gods is amazing. That chaotic image of rock and roll is what brought me into the world of music, however I enjoy it so much, I’d like to share it with others.

“too long, didn’t read” version: Guitar smashing has its time and place, and I understand it. Probably do it one time in my life too.

I’d like one of those figures….a woman with a guitar and an EHX shirt, I’m having trouble to think of anything better. unfortunatly it seems you need the game to get one.. :(

A woman with a guitar, an EHX shirt, and a skirt with matching striped stockings?

Haha, my girlfriend loves my EHX shirt and I got her one in yellow, that should be here soon. She’s already modeled my bass and EHX shirt for me. :D

So I snagged a Russian Bassballs for 12 dollars. I don’t really want or need it, but I couldn’t pass it up. No idea where it will go on my board though….

That’s awesome! Where did you get it? I’ll buy it from you if you don’t want it…

I’ll PM if I decide on moving it. I may just keep it for the collection. Maybe do a rehousing on it so I can fit it on the board.
