My girlfriend is dragging me to Guitar Center today. She wants to buy me a pedal but I really don’t want her spending that much on me, when she knows I wasn’t able to spend much on her this year. So I’m thinking something cheap-ish and EHX. LPB1 perhaps?

    My babies.

I do love the Strat/DMM combo, particularly with a touch of OD and a smidge of compression.

Is that a Bass VI or just a baritone?

    Hey McHaven . . .

    . . . why a lawsuit ?

Many Co’s have used the same idea to make smething simmilar, and even better sometimes !
Did Henry Ford sue every other American car Co. in the 1920’s ?
Did Gibson sue Leo Fender when he took a piece of wood and added strings and pick ups ?
Did osram using light buld Co A, sue light bulb Co. B for inventing the “Energy Saving Bulb” ? Same thing – it makes light, but in a better, more cost effective way !

EHX too can make something simmilar – just better !

I’m just thinking outloud. Don’t ever take my word as something to actually be trusted lol. I just kind of say things.

The polychorsu is no where near as lush and deep a chorus as the small clone, if you buy one for its chorus you will be disapointed but if you buy one for its chorus/flange/weird ass noises you’ll be pleased. IMO, you MUST own both!

I haven’t had any problems at all getting great chorus sounds out of my polychorus. Personally, I think the flanging on the Polychorus is super weak. As for weird sounds, it can make those excellently. I find I can’t even turn most of the knobs more than 1/4 of the way before it becomes too crazy to be used tastefully. Great GREAT pedal…that I got for 50 bucks :D

I don’t see EHX being able to do this…something about a likely lawsuit I would think.

Ok I’ve got a few pics we can all laugh at. This first one is from my band’s very first gig when we were 15 or 16. I’m the dorky bass player with the short blue hair. God, I look terrible. n500828139_11522_3519.jpg

We went through about a million singers. Here’s the last show of that incarnation of the band n510098444_4675_607.jpg

Now, the band broke up in our junior year of high school, until about November of our freshmen college years (Nov 2007 or so) We had some new much better tunes to play, found a great female singer (great singer, not necessarily great for our style though) This is that incarnation at our biggest show so far.

Now, the chick left the band around May 2008, due to school and whatnot. Not a real big loss. I happened upon this guy on craigslist around our area, our age and with a lot of the same influence. Not always the best singer, but he’s got energy charisma and he’s a great friend too. This was the last show we played before we all went back to college in August n503884397_767701_7083.jpg

Now we’re all back in town and I just gotta figure out what the hell we’re doing over our holiday

Nice Free Speech. I picked one up real cheap to play around with, but it is honestly giving me more trouble than its worth. It doesn’t play well when in line with the rest of my effects (i think its the buffer/bypass of the Free Speech, adds some really bad noise/clipping to my signal) I also bought a real cheap XLR-1/8″ cable to use with it, and that barely works.I’m thinking about getting an A/B box and putting my board in A and the Free Speech in B, and then probably just running the Free Speech into the PA. I dunno, big hassle. Don’t know if I’ll keep it around.

Now, I’m going to sound like I don’t like EHX in this post, but bear with me.

In my experience (I owned the Nano Clone for about 5 hours before returning it), the Nano Clone is not worth the money. Sure it’s small and has the same features as the Small Clone, but it is not any where near as good as the Small Clone.

Main gripes with the Nano Clone:
As stated in this post, horrendous noise problems no matter what. It isn’t as much of a chorus as it is a “suck my tone and add some hiss” pedal.
Center Positive power: A true pain in the ass when powering (can’t use a daisy chain)
Volume Drop (Where the hell did my guitar go?)
Low End Loss (A bass is no longer a bass)

Honestly, I would just get a Small Clone rather than try and fix the Nano. It really pains me to see EHX release a product with so many of what I would call, complete turn offs. For me, the Nano Clone was just terrible and is the only EHX pedal that I haven’t been able to like at a ll.

You should try it and maybe you’ll know what I am talking about. The Graphic Fuzz has a lot you can deal with while plugging your bass into. I’ve tried it with a 4 String P Bass and I was able to get some really great sounds out of it. This doesn’t replace the the awesome Bass Big Muff Pi, but you have a larger pallet to play with. It’s all experimentation…

Oh yes, I agree about experimentation. But I’m done buying pedals that I can’t use with my band, and if a fuzz pedal cuts my lows, I’m not going to be able to be heard in the band. Otherwise, yes I really want to try it. I tried to get my guitarists to buy a Graphic Fuzz, so I can play with it, haha.

It’s a healthy addiction…. You will never be confronted by your friends for an intervention. Save a few bucks here and there and you’ll see. You will have a enough to purchase a seventh Muff. Plus, think about how much money we all spend on other things that really don’t make a spectrum splash in the audio pool…. Gothcha there.[/quote]

I actually have had a pedal intervention. “Mick you have a problem! Why do you need 3 ring mods?!”

Man, every time I see the old chasis pedals XO’ed, it makes me want my Polychorus and Micro Synth shrunk down. The XOs just look so damn cool.

Hey EHX, how about a bass graphic fuzz? ;)

    Hello,

The Micro-Synth has neen shrunk down. The Graphic Fuzz’s left last week and were shipped out with such fierce and fury that the sound on the block will never be the same.

    good grief. :rawk:

The Graphic Fuzz sounds great with the bass. You can get some really off the wall type of Bass wails with this box. Especially with the EQ function when engaged. It really cuts the bass freqs and makes it work… Drummers will like you even more now.

I fail to see how something can “sound great with the bass” and “cut the bass freqs” at the same time.

one thing i’d hate to happen is the polychorus moving out of the sexy big box into a diecast bag. it really, really wouldn’t suit it.
    big enclosures ftw!

I’m afraid of that too, although it would be nice to free up some space on my board. The big polychorus is just so strange and unknown around here, that it is just…cool to have. I don’t know if I’d go for the XO…I probably would just for space, and especially if the voltage is changed. Hell, I didn’t even go for the XO BMS
