I took him out to dinner tonight but he kept repeating everything I said… in a charming way, I guess.
He’s a good listener. If you want to hear from him, crank up the feedback and he’ll open up to you. But be careful, prompt him too much and you may end up hearing terrible crazy things.

McHavenModeratorI gotta say I’m not a fan of white on red. I’d switch that over to a black guard IMO. My girlfriend would like you to know she likes it though, haha. (what a catch right? We can look at pedals and gear together) My rhythm guitarist plays a Jaguar, and its also a pain in the ass to setup properly, much like the jazzmasters. Once they finally get setup properly, they play like a dream though.
McHavenModeratorI haven’t used the Holier Grail on bass, but I have used the Holy Grail. It tended to suck out a lot of low end and wasn’t noticeable until I had the knob past 3:00. Your experience may vary
McHavenModeratorI keep meaning to do some reviews. I’ve got a ton of EHX on my board, and play bass. You don’t see many bass reviews of some EHX pedals. I don’t think I’ve ever seen bass reviews of a few of mine, like the Polychorus, or the Pulsar.
McHavenModeratorQuote:yeah, im using the power supply that came with it, and the only thing i’ve touched on the inside is the trim control.Did it still not work before you changed the trim?
McHavenModeratorNow this may sound mean or insulting but I don’t mean it that way at all. Are you using the proper power supply?
Also: did you mess with the internal trim pots?
McHavenModeratorYeah, I’ve always seen people selling older EHX pedals with all the paperwork and the sticker, however none of the EHX I’ve ever bought has come with the stickers. I want one!
McHavenModeratorI should also add, my band’s stuff is linked in my sig. It’s not always actually what I like though.
McHavenModeratorQuote:well I went them an email but no answer, they must be out till after xmas,..that doesn’t help my new years gig tho, guess it’s time to buy another pedal
Don’t be discouraged by a lack of response to your email. It normally takes about a day before they get back to you. Although, you’re right in assuming they may be out for holiday already. Just letting you know that its not typical to get an answer the same day. Least that has been my experience.
McHavenModeratorWhatever I feel like, is the smartass answer.
My band is a blues influenced rock band. I don’t want to throw too many genres in there, so we’ll just call it rock. Personally, I tend to write the post-rock/psychedelic noise stuff, but the rest of the band doesn’t really go for that.McHavenModeratorQuote:Next Sunday A.D.
There was a guy named Joel
not to different from you or mewhat?
McHavenModeratorQuote:Quote:My girlfriend is dragging me to Guitar Center today. She wants to buy me a pedal but I really don’t want her spending that much on me, when she knows I wasn’t able to spend much on her this year. So I’m thinking something cheap-ish and EHX. LPB1 perhaps? The LPB-1 is great, I only got mine a couple of weeks ago and I’m wondering now why I didn’t get one before….
it’s a really useful pedal.
Well, we went to GC and they didn’t have the LPB1 in stock, so I just got some strings. No big deal, I can always find a LPB1 for like 20 bucks online.

My parents and scholarships take care of all school expenses, and I can use my meager income to buy effects. My first year of college I had a pretty good job and I managed to buy an effect a week. My room was filled with patch cables, pedals, power supplies and shipping boxes. At the height of my collection, I could have filled up 3 Pedaltrain Pros. No bills=awesome
