The 8 Step Program works with the Frostwave Blue Ringer nicely.

Do you notice any tracking difference after the software upgrade? There is slight latency in the attack and the sound itself has an almost very short delay effect on it when using the whammy mode on my Ring Thing. I’m wondering if the upgrade improves the performance.

    Hi Bill,

Is that a Ministar guitar your playing? How do you like it?

I did re-save the patch with the toe down. I’m not sure why it matters? I thought the RingThing is supposed to save expression pedal settings. When I hit the Preset/Tune switch when the pedal is toe up for an octave down setting the pitch drops. I haven’t checked to see if the tuning is accurate. I did notice at one point during a rehearsal my octave down patch reverted back to the factory preset – octave up. Very weird.

I’m interested to hear if the Moog fixes some of the instability.

I’ve experienced some tuning instability using the Boss EV5 trying to do whammy stuff. Has anyone tried the Moog expression pedal?

I’ve been experimenting with the Ring Thing for a few days. Awesome range of sounds. Being able to shape the notes by using the expression pedal adds so much expression.

I do have one issue I’m trying to figure out. When the unit is setup to function like a whammy pedal – going down an octave – if I hit the preset/tune button the pitch drops a bit even if the expression pedal is in the up position. I have to drop the pitch using the expression pedal and pull it up again to return to the correct pitch. I’m using a Roland ev-5. This happens when I’m using the preset or “what you see is what you get”. I was trying to drop the pitch down by using the expression pedal then hit the preset/tune buttom to move back to the initial setting for a hard pitch shift. It does change the pitch, but it’s slightly flat. I did make sure the expression pedal’s knob was working correct.
