For me, i think it adds just a little bit of bass, but not alot.
But go for it, its a great pedal for the price
Ok that’s not a problem at all for a solo boost
The SHO somehow completely takes that harmonics out of my high end :S
And adds way too much bass. I could tweak that out by changing a capacitor or something but screw it!
Sorry, but in the loop the tone differences are much bigger than before the amp.
You know what, I’m just gonna try it, 30 bucks isn’t a big loss is it?!
I think it will track and sound better if you’d put it in front of the LBP and any modulation.. It seems logical but I don’t own one so I might be mistaken
Nice board though, lot’s of space left Mine is slowly getting crowded
Thanks!
I tried the microsynth in a few different positions and it sounds the best in front of my ds-1.
I completely forgot about your dirt pedals..
Basically as much at the beginning of the chain as possible :thumb:
I love the Micro Synth unfortunatly it’s totally unusable in my music except for one or two songs..
I’m just starting to get to know the characteristics of this mic and setup. I can see the tone improving over time
The sound is still a bit thin, I’m going to try recording at a higher volume I think
Thanks for these m0jo, I’m so enamored with this pedal. This thread can be documentation of your whole journey with it from now until you become an expert with it. It could be very dramatic, like Mike Tyson’s Punchout.
I love that vision!
I’ve now found out that by sacrificing some signal/noise I can get a fatter sound (by turning up the mic gain on the pc). I really need a proper microphone pre-amp, but I don’t have the money atm.
Aw well, got to have something to work towards right

I would like to hear this thing, with some tonal sounds running thru it (longer decayed tones. With a manual sweep of the filter; expression pedal; and as well… the atack set to slow for swells (if that’s possible on this thing….)
I’m trying all sorts of different playing, to for one not get boring, and two to demonstrate different styles on the Riddle. If you check out the initial clips you can see if that is satisfactory and otherwise I’ll do a special one just for you.
I’m just choosing some nice sounding settings for each mode (up and down) first. And I’ll do some specific swell sounds, which are definitly possible!
I’d just stick it on the high mA output of my PP2+. Except those are both spoken for.
Uh oh, I just realize I have a powering problem if I get the riddle. Except if I can get by with 100ma.
Hmm.. well I honestly don’t know, you’d have to ask Scott about that.
It’s a bit of an annoyance that EHX doesn’t post technical specs anywhere.. even on the manual.
I have a feeling that 100mA should be fine.. I mean it’s just a filter and some dirt.
All the extra knobs make it much more usefull .. but not ore powerconsuming.
it may sound stupid but can u run that riddle of a power supply other than the adaptor?
It works with a standard 9V supply, but it’s a bit noisy. I went back to the provided adapter and it was perfectly quiet. I say stick with the provided supply as recommended.
No offence, but get a proper adapter With my 1-Spot there is zero noise!
The Riddle psu is 200mA, I’d figure that the Riddle sucks around 100 – 150 mA, so it easly fits on my 1-Spot. Dirt is mostly under 30mA (most even under 10), wah the same and chorus maybe 60mA or something?
I have two 1-Spots, one for everything before the input and one for everything in the loop. That did cause noise when I daisychained it all. But because of the ground loop, not adapter.
The 1-Spot also gives out way less radio-noise (hold your standard style adapter in the back of your combo and you’ll hear it ). It all contributes!
