June 17, 2015 at 2:13 pm in reply to: 45000 Looper – Headphone Volume control ISSUES – 2 units were bad so far! #120747largealMember
…hmmm, yes missing screws are annoying and Not a confidence builder, but the 45000 looper is such a great pedal overall, and now that yours has been serviced by EH and working correctly means you can really get to use and enjoy it now.
I’d just email and ask them for a set of screws, and then you’ll be done thinking about it and get on with USING it.It is true that there is a manufacturing defect in the Units and after getting 3 defective units, I feel that it boils down to a ground issue where the potentiometers are NOT making strong enough contact in these units, and that is possibly a design issue, but they seem to be able to fix them easily enough, it’s just a bad thing that MANY went out this way.
I am sure some users are not even aware of the issues, on mine they were intermittent, but mostly they did Not function correctly “if” you are paying attention.
I wouldn’t condemn all EH products or the company, they do make and design great things and these glitch’s just happen in manufacturing… luckily easily fixed, albeit at a small shipping cost to return our units to them, but in the big picture, if this is our biggest problem, then life isn’t so bad IMO… Enjoy.June 1, 2015 at 7:43 pm in reply to: 45000 Looper – Headphone Volume control ISSUES – 2 units were bad so far! #120728largealMemberQuote:Cool, thanks for the quick reply. I’m thinking I’m going to mail it in for repairs, so I dug the box out of storage to prep it. It sucks that there seem to be a great number of defective 45000 pedals out there, as feature wise, there is no comparison. Having to pay return postage on a really expensive pedal sucks too, but I guess there isn’t much of a choice if I want it repaired. It’s worth fixing it properly, EH has had some sort of Assembly problem with these units IMO. I think it comes down to a Grounding issue for the Pots. I am not an electronics expert, but after my own assessments and 3 attempts to buy a working unit and fix mine, this is what my guess was. IF you Push on the pots that seem affected, with mine the Pan Pots also did not function correctly, but by pushing on them I could get them to make contact and work properly until i let go. So I assumed Grounding.
EH fixed and returned it to me, they did NOT explain what they did, and they do NOT charge money to return Units under warranty, but you will have to spend a little just to get it to them. I recommend it.
After buying 3 of them, I feel that all these Units are all subject to this minor production glitch, as so many seem wonky, after this, you should have smooth trouble free FUN.May 31, 2015 at 4:21 am in reply to: 45000 Looper – Headphone Volume control ISSUES – 2 units were bad so far! #120723largealMemberQuote:I’m having a similar issue with my 45000 that I purchased through Amazon in December of 2014. Everything works great except the headphone volume. It appears to have no affect on the headphone or monitor volume. The headphone/monitor is stuck at a decent level (around line, haven’t measured it) and is usable, but annoying. Moving or pressing on the knob generates a bit of static but doesn’t change the level. It actually had the same problem when I first got it, but started working after a couple of days. I didn’t use the pedal for a month or so, and the problem returned after not using it.
Did your 3rd pedal resolve your issue?
Sadly, all 3 of the New units I bought had the same issue, and it was Intermittent. I can advise the Fastest way to resolve the problem permanently would be to send it to EHX, it should be under Warranty, they fixed mine and it made a Big Difference in using it, it’s much more enjoyable to use now.
Even though it’s a hassle to pack and mail it to NY, it’s WORTH doing. They know exactly what the issue is, I Wish I had sent the 1st unit I bought to them instead of mucking about for 30 days buying and returning the 1st 2 Units.
Hope this helps. Good luck.largealMemberQuote:Quote:Quote:When will this looper pedal be available for purchase in the US?I think they are shipping right now or very soon. I have 1 on order. I was told it should be coming in about a week or 2.
Where did you pre-order yours? I don’t see them anywhere. And they’re not even listed on the main Ehx site yet (other than in the Ehx 2015 catalog).
I have a local store I deal with that ordered it. Any dealer can order one. They are shipping very soon. They should be available everywhere soon anyway based on what I was told.
Because this is a new item, I am guessing that the website will catch up to what is going on, many company’s websites are updated behind what is happening based on what I have seen.
I don’t even know the price, but I want 1 regardless. Their pedals seem fairly priced to me in general.largealMemberQuote:Bought a C9 pedal – only to find out – when the power is connected – the red LED light is always on – even when the pedal is off (off – bypass).
What’s wrong with the pedal ?Does the footswitch turn the organ effect on and off even though the LED stays on?

largealMemberThe new 22500 Looper is in the 2015 PDF Catalog. I am waiting for it’s release. It has some really nice features and should prove to be very popular.

The TrackM.wav track was not a stereo file. I was copying a mono file to TrackM and the 45000 was not recognizing the file. As soon as I converted the mono file to stereo, the Looper worked perfectly. I am really excited about this looper now!OK, good news …that’s understandable, the MIX file should be stereo. Did he mention how to upload 3 or 4 separate tracks via the card so the looper can see and play those “separated” tracks or can it only play 1 stereo Mix track?
I haven’t really spent much time with this yet or experimented, curious if it can work this way.February 24, 2015 at 7:24 pm in reply to: Problem Loading Custom Loops onto SD Card for 45000 Looper #120561largealMemberQuote:Hello,Thanks for your reply.I actually did see your post. The promise that the 45000 can directly play back wav files was what sold me. My plan was to take raw tracks from our CDs of the bass and synth and directly copy them to the 45000. That way I would have no sync issues and I could mix the wav files live and separate from each other. I have since had an email reply from John, who is out of the office until tomorrow. I really do hope he can resolve my issue. I have sent all six tracks to him, and hope he will find the problem. Did you ever get the problem resolved?I have not resumed trying to attempt what you are doing… once i found an alternative way to fly the files right into the looper, that is all that mattered to me… its a work around and i don’t see any downside to this.
You might experiment while you are waiting for some factory reply. I used a stereo cable and played my studio stereo track into 2 tracks of the looper, it worked perfectly and then i could overdub or add loops to the parts from my studio.Keep us posted if EH has any helpful news anyway.
February 24, 2015 at 6:03 am in reply to: Problem Loading Custom Loops onto SD Card for 45000 Looper #120554largealMemberHello. I had commented about this in the other 45000 SD card thread: If all else fails, you can still always record the part right into the 45000 in REAL time (playing it back) INTO the 45000 Looper, Not onto a card outside of the Looper.
here is what i said:
So, after a few attempts, the Fastest solution that i found or work around was to just play your track or tracks and Record them directly INTO the 45000 in Real time, then you can go from there adding parts or such, it’s a work around idea that does work if you get burned out experimenting and just want to start working.
Hope this helps.largealMemberThanks for the update, i have not had the time to try importing any files recently… but glad you got some factory assistance, i will investigate that next time i attempt some file transfers. Thanks!
largealMemberQuote:That helps a lot, thanks. One other thing…Do you have full control over which tracks you are recording onto on the 45000? I mean it’s not restricted to the mixdown track and you can still overdub over what you’ve recorded?
Thanks
yes, when you “PLAY” your track into the 2 inputs, the 45000 sees those tracks as if you were performing them live, so you can do anything with them that you would with a Live Performance part. You would just assign them to 2 tracks and then overdub and mix when you finish. This is very helpful to me if i want to dump a drum part into the 45000 fro example from my DAW, then I can work on the tracks on the 45000.
largealMemberQuote:It sounds like they’d consider a firmware update otherwise I doubt they’d be wanting to see the audio files.I’ll keep you posted on any feedback I get from them. You’re solution sounds pretty good and I’m going to give it a go.I don’t know anything about stereo splitter box’s.Would a cheap, basic 2 way one do the job?
Yes, please do post any replies from EH about any Firmware updates. I still plan to experiment over the long holiday with file transfer.
As far as a stereo splitter, I have a Red Switchcraft Splitter box, those are pricier about $60.00, but you can also use an inexpensive Stereo splitter cable, just make sure it has the ends that you need, maybe a small stereo 3.5mm on 1 end and 2 split MONO 1/4 inch ends for the 45000.You need something like this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-FT-3-5MM-Stereo-TRS-Male-to-Dual-1-4-TS-Male-Splitter-Patch-Cable-3S1-4N1X2-/290920766031?pt=US_Cables_Snakes_Interconnects&hash=item43bc3a9a4f
I hope this helps.largealMemberQuote:Hi,Thanks for your response.
I emailed EHX regarding the problem and they’ve asked me to send them some sound files from Mixcraft so they can analyze them.It could be that the 45000 needs a firmware update for those particular .wav files.
How are you recording live into your 45000? Are you micing your speakers?
Cheers
I’d be curious to know if EH offers 45000 firmware updates? I haven’t heard about that.
I plan to experiment some more with .WAV files over the holiday, but in the meantime, the way I moved my track into the 45000 was to take a headphone out, coming out of my computer, into a Stereo splitter box that i own, then I ran 2 cables INTO the 45000 set up to record in Stereo mode.
Then I simply played the tune in the computer and hit Record on the 45000. When the tune ended, I stopped the 45000 loop.
Very easy. Just check your recording levels going in and set it up not to distort. This worked perfectly for me in a pinch.largealMemberI attempted something like this recently too and didn’t have any luck adding files via the SD card, even though i read the manual and it is possible, I was just more anxious to get to work on the tracks.
