    hey

yh kevs boards are always awesome, just casue were on an EHX forum, dont mean we have to post boards with 1 or all ehx pedals on it

i have always liked his boards, on here, harmony central and other sites

and theres vintage pedals on his board.

i dont think anyboard is lame, wether each pedal is worth a million bucks or nothing, if you like it and it gets good sounds out of it, its a good board

Thanks Ash, but it doesn’t really bother me what people think of my gear…
hopefully Jesse was joking anyway, if not, I’ve been playing for long enough, and have (or have had) enough different pedals (at all price points from Danelectro to Lovetone) to know what I like not to be concerned what other people think.
I post pictures from time to time here and on HC just for a bit of fun, and to remind people that there are some great pedals out there if you look beyond the usual big brands and the trendy ’boutiques’.

also kev with photo bucket, i have resized it again, but theres no apply button with my mac, it jsut says image has been re-sized, but then i try and put it on again, and its massive

oh, that’s weird… although I do remember that happening to me.

(assuming it’s the same on PC as Mac)

in Photobucket, there are two ways (that I know) to resize pictures, the first is to use the normal ‘resize’ menu – which gives you a few preset sizes and a custom option. This seems to be the least reliable and I too have had ‘resized’ pictures revert to their full size.

The other, more reliable method is to click on re-size in the ‘Edit’ drop-down menu – which uses the full editor.

    lame. its ehxless

    wrong. correct. ;)

I really hope you were joking mate; I’ve never heard anyone describe vintage Colorsound, Vox and Guyatone pedals, and the Boss PN-2 (a classic) as lame.

bloody hell it still didnt work

im gonna have to make it tiny

whats missing is a big box microsynth and a worm

    the chain is

    Guitar
    Microsynth
    pog2
    Worm
    English Muff’n
    Big Muff Tone Wicker
    DMM
    Holy Grail

it’s still the same size as before… 1024 wide.

you can resize it in Photobucket…
if you’ve already tried that, you have to resize it, then remember to hit ‘Apply’ and save the picture.
(A few times I’ve forgotten one of those steps, which meant the picture returned to it’s revious size.)

    Nice board, Ash. :thumb:
I really like it… not too many pedals but it’s a great selection; super-versatile.

I think 700 pixels wide is about right to fit on the page properly.
    (Mine’s 500 wide.)

This is my board at the moment; none of my EHX pedals have made it on lately.

Well this is the problem its very hard to find Universal Distortion Pedals

If possible, the best thing to do would be to go to a guitar shop and try some pedals out; you may be lucky and find something suitable straight away…
Or you may find a good overdrive which suits the bluesy stuff you want to do, but not the heavier sounds – but perhaps using a boost or another overdrive in tandem could get you there.

If you’re going for old school metal (you mentioned Black Sabbath), you’re not really going to need masses of gain.

see if you can get your hands on a hot tubes. nice pic man

Ok its a pedal the problem is i didnt finde it on an european site but only here on ehx
ill keep looking for one here in europ Thanks for the help.

You’d probably have to buy it used – I don’t think they’re currently in production… I think there was a limited run recently (in the last year or two), but they would probably all have sold by now.

The English Muff’n may well be good for what you want… but there are so many other possibilities too…

I have an old Yamaha MBD-20 Multi-Band Distortion which I’d say is perfect. They’re not that easy to find though.

You’ll first need to upload your pics to a photo hosting website such as Photobucket, Flickr etc, then you either copy and paste the IMG code into your post here, or copy the url of the picture and use the ‘‘ button here.

I have a POG2 and used to have a Micro POG; they both sound best to me after fuzz/overdrive/distortion.

i have both analogue, digital, and tube pedals from ehx, and i think that they are all amazing. some have better bits that others, but each of them are awesome, and i dont think id choose over digital, analogue, tube or anything, so long as it sounds good, thats all im happy with.

i have also heard with digital and analogue delay pedals should run analogue – digital – amp

    is this true ?

I’ve noticed a lot of people tend to run it that way: analogue->digital delay…
but I pretty much always go digital->analogue…

it’s just a personal preference issue really, but my reasoning is that running a short (analogue) delay into a long (digital) one sounds best to me as the repeats seem to gel together better that way; adding a softer ambience or slapback to the longer digital repeats.

it can also sound good the other way around for rhythmic echoes. but that’s not something I ever do, really.

    another reason for going digital->analogue, is that digital effects can be easier to overload;
I’ve done this before while running an analogue delay (with lots of repeats) into a digital delay and it overloaded, distorted and basically sounded horrible. I’ve found analogue pedals much more forgiving in that regard.

There are always exceptions to the rule though; I would generally run a DMM first as the preamp can be quite sensitive… I even tend to run the DMM before my dirt pedals if I’m using it.

I can’t say for sure, but they definitely appear to be the same thing…

obviously they look the same, have the same specs and frequency response… and I’m sure I read somewhere that the EH-R1 was/is made in Russia.

the way you have your signal flow written out in your first post, the preamp would need to be mono…

    but…

can you please specify what you mean by ‘preamp’ and what you want it to do.
