Try putting it, or the rest of your pedals, into the FX loop of your amplifier, this will isolate them from one-another by quite a margin.
KartoonHeadMemberQuote:how did you get feedback on the guitars that easy and quickly without making it too harsh?I didn’t! I used the ‘attack’ slider on the POG2 to make the notes fade in, and mixing in a bit of the 1st octave up makes it sound even more like feedback
KartoonHeadMemberWow, wasn’t expecting that! Thanks a load guys
The drums, despite sounding like a drum machine are actually SonicCouture ‘Variable Ambience’ drum samples. I’m using the ‘Anechoic Kit’ on that track which is (as you might have guessed) sampled in an anechoic chamber; a room with an extremely low RT60, near enough zero reverb I was going for a really dry drum sound, but in the end I did have to add a bit of convolution, there is such a thing as too dry
Again, thanks for all the great feedback!
KartoonHeadMemberConstant fluctuation of sound level is usually down to a loose connection somewhere, most often a cable, but as you’ve eliminated that possibility it’s likely the input or output of the pedal. This sort of thing also happens when you have a dodgey power rail shorting to somewhere it shouldn’t be.
I wouldn’t recommend opening it up yourself, it’s a damn complex pedal that one. I’d say contact EHX and see if they can do a repair for you.
KartoonHeadMemberReading this really makes me want an RC-2. Are there any cheaper alternatives? The woman is likely to cut my balls off if I purchase another pricey pedal.
KartoonHeadMemberQuote:I found a good deal on an EHX Bass MicroSynth, but I’m wondering if it would sound okay on guitar. It says it’s tuned for bass?Does anyone have an idea on how it would sound?
As far as my understanding goes the only difference between the two is the value of the input and output capacitors. So it should sound fine, might just be a bit bassier. Besides, you can mod guitar ones to bass ones and bass ones to guitar ones, so if you’ve any experience with electronic or pedal building you’ll be able to do this yourself very cheaply.

2: POG2
3: Little Big Muff Pi (XO)Is that really all the EHX stuff I own? Damn, I need to get a better paying job.

In the same vein I’m listening to my girlfriend snoring, and I think that’s a cue for me to get off the bloody computer and come to bed.

In this instance you’ll probably need a phat beefy distorted synth sound as your carrier input which will superimpose that tone onto your voice and the vocoder should take care of the rest, just key the right notes and with a bit of tweaking you should get it just how you want it.
Hope this helps.
EDIT:
Just found this image of a vocoder made for Kraftwerk in the 70’s. Haven’t we come a long way?

KartoonHeadMemberJust an update, I’ve had this for a couple of weeks now and (I know you bassist are gonna give me stick for this but…) I’ve just stopped using my bass guitar all-together. I find it far more natural, and it sounds far more ‘me’ to just turn up the lower octave sliders for certain parts, rather than put a stand-alone bass line in. My playing is always very rhythmic anyway so bass lines were usually just doubled with the bass so there’s still a bass line there, it’s just not played on bass.
Besides, with this thing running through a Big Muff there isn’t much room for anything else in the mix!
KartoonHeadMemberHaving watched the demo I now want to buy one, so yes, buy one.
I also REALLY want a Germanium 4 Big Muff Pi, just saying, it’s nearly christmas!
KartoonHeadMemberThanks for all the replies, much appreciated, I just can’t get it working so I’ve sent an email
KartoonHeadMemberAs if this all wasn’t bad enough there are now strange red orbs spacing the tabs out which are unfamiliar to me and may scare me off the site alltogether.
KartoonHeadMemberOne thing you can do with an FX loop pedal is have a switch to feed part of the FX-in back to the FX-out through a small amplifier (maybe something tiny like the LPB-1 circuit) to make pedals self-oscillate. This would be right up EHX’s street as it makes crazy sounds.
