EHX just posted this on twitter:
julianModeratorIt doesn’t look all analog.
julianModeratorWell that was sort of what the Frequency Analyzer’s supposed to do when the filter is engaged, it’s supposed to get rid of the upper sideband. However the filter doesn’t completely get rid of it.
julianModeratorSounds cool. I can’t wait for the official demo!
julianModeratorDo the amplitudes of the scale’s pitches react to the pitches you play?
For example, let’s say all of the sympathetic strings are tuned to C. Will they resonate more if the note I play is a C or a natural harmonic of C such as F?
julianModeratorHey at least in that one he kept the flanger off!!! I think some of those patches are dialed in a bit too intense for my taste, but I like the one he brings up at 0:45, nice and subtle.
Sounds like it’s got a fuzz hidden in there too, and it sounds like you might be able to dial in that proper sitar twang. I’m excited!
julianModeratorSupposedly Premier Guitar got a video. That one right there is pretty horrid. I mean, it’s cool that it can do flange sounds and pitch bends, but I want to hear the sitar sounds.
I wish EH would just fly Bill out to NAMM to do their demos for them.
julianModeratorThanks for the answers Flick. Sounds like it would work perfectly with the fretless guitar I’m planning.
Is the sympathetic section basically a comb filter, or is it based on its own algorithm?
julianModeratorHopefully Flick will get in here to answer some questions.
Here’s my first one. Sitars are tuned in just intonation while guitars are tuned in equal tempered intonation. Are the sympathetic sounds in just or equal? If I play just scales with a slide or on a fretless, would it work out, or sound out of tune? Would the effect work well with a microtonally fretted guitar?
It’s a rather fringe question, but I’ve been considering making a fretless guitar for more eastern sounding music & I’m wondering if this would work well with it.
julianModeratorQuote:“”Yesterday, we just received a prototype of something new thats unique — there’s nothing like it on the market, and it’s all analog. . .We have something really sensational that we hope will be out in about three months.”This isn’t all analog though is it? Maybe there is still something else.
Could be analog with digital controls.
But this is probably different.
Can’t wait to hear a demo of this thing!!!
julianModerator1. Have a HOG/16SD/2880 type foot controller that can cycle presets as well as control looping functions.
2. speed & shape controls for modulation
3. More time for the 1 sec + reverse
4. Instead of having a gazillion modes, have one mode with hidden controls:Normal controls:
Blend
Smear (the echo’s setting for decay that gives a reverb quality)
Tone
Feedback
Delay timehidden controls:
Modulation depth
Modulation rate
discreet repeats 1-30 (multi-tap setting on the SMMH)
decay (controls the decay of the discreet repeats multi-tap setting on the SMMH)
multi-tap delay timethen throw in a way to switch it into reverse mode but keep all the same controls.
One problem with the different modes on the SMMH is that I always wanted to blend them. Why couldn’t I have the reverbery decay from the echo mode one the multi-tap mode or the reverse mode? Why couldn’t I have feedback on the multi-tap mode?
Also it would be cool to have it be able to do Binson Echorec type multi-tap stuff.
julianModeratorAlways get a stereo expression pedal, they’re compatible with either. Can’t say that for expression pedals with a mono plug.
julianModeratorouch
julianModeratorYeah, there’s that too. I didn’t mention that because the OP said that they made sure the trim knob was cranked
julianModeratorI just wish I could find one.
I found a place that sells batteries for them: http://estore.haightashburymusic.com/power-sonic-ps-1250f2-12v-5-0ah-20ma-sealed-lead-acid-battery-47265
