usually the best way to exchange emails is through PMs or personal messages, which you can send to people by clicking on their names. It shows their profile and there is an option there. :thu:
Also, when you want to remove your email from that post, just go down to where it says EDIT underneath. :thu: Or you can ask me since I can edit any post I want.
July 22, 2009 at 4:48 pm in reply to: I did some more HOG demos, at Ghost’s request. Some SMMH action as well. #99843julianModeratorIn the sitar clip?
Continued strumming. I’m strumming every string on the guitar, plus I loop the beginning, plus my guitar is a neck-through, plus reverb, plus the auto-gliss setting sort of holds notes a little bit. I think I also have some attack on the HOG parts so the strumming is blurred. The guitar is tuned C A# D# A C C. I’m playing the melody in power chords on the non C strings.
julianModeratorhey justubert, I’d suggest after he emails you, that you take your email address down. It’s probably not best to leave your email address up on a public site. That’s just asking for spambots to collect it.
julianModeratoryour demos don’t sound bad at all. Sure there are some peaks here and there, but I know it’s not the pedal, so it’s all good.
julianModeratorI can get the Lofi Loop Junky sound with a little bit of dark overdrive + clone theory
julianModeratorI think analogman @ analogman.com does mods on both those
julianModeratorMine works fine. I even once got the powering cables messed up and ran it with way more power than it’s rated for and it still works fine. I can leave mine on for days at a time and have no problems.
Not sure what went wrong with yours, probably Murphy’s Law of Gigs. If I were you, I’d send it in to EH and have them fix it. I don’t really think there’s much we can do on our side if something went wrong.
julianModeratorSince some newer comedies got mentioned, I’d like to say that I think the Hangover is possibly the funniest movie to come out since Dumb and Dumber.
OMG how did I not mention Dumb and Dumber? And the Cable Guy? Two of my other favorite comedies. Top 20, maybe top 10 for me.
julianModeratorFavorite Comedies:
The Jerk
Navin: I know we’ve only known each other four weeks and three days, but to me it seems like nine weeks and five days. The first day seemed like a week and the second day seemed like five days. And the third day seemed like a week again and the fourth day seemed like eight days. And the fifth day you went to see your mother and that seemed just like a day, and then you came back and later on the sixth day, in the evening, when we saw each other, that started seeming like two days, so in the evening it seemed like two days spilling over into the next day and that started seeming like four days, so at the end of the sixth day on into the seventh day, it seemed like a total of five days. And the sixth day seemed like a week and a half. I have it written down, but I can show it to you tomorrow if you want to see it.Peewee’s Big Adventure
Pee-wee: There’s a lotta things about me you don’t know anything about, Dottie. Things you wouldn’t understand. Things you couldn’t understand. Things you shouldn’t understand. You don’t wanna get mixed up with a guy like me. I’m a loner, Dottie. A rebel. So long, Dott.Lolita (Kubrick version of course!!!)
Charlotte Haze: Hum, you just touch me and I… I… I go as limp as a noodle. It scares me.
Humbert Humbert: Yes, I know the feeling.Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying About the War and Love the Bomb
Major T. J. “King” Kong: Well, boys, I reckon this is it – nuclear combat toe to toe with the Roosskies. Now look, boys, I ain’t much of a hand at makin’ speeches, but I got a pretty fair idea that something doggone important is goin’ on back there. And I got a fair idea the kinda personal emotions that some of you fellas may be thinkin’. Heck, I reckon you wouldn’t even be human bein’s if you didn’t have some pretty strong personal feelin’s about nuclear combat. I want you to remember one thing, the folks back home is a-countin’ on you and by golly, we ain’t about to let ’em down. I tell you something else, if this thing turns out to be half as important as I figure it just might be, I’d say that you’re all in line for some important promotions and personal citations when this thing’s over with. That goes for ever’ last one of you regardless of your race, color or your creed. Now let’s get this thing on the hump – we got some flyin’ to do.Annie Hall
Alvy Singer: There’s an old joke – um… two elderly women are at a Catskill mountain resort, and one of ’em says, “Boy, the food at this place is really terrible.” The other one says, “Yeah, I know; and such small portions.” Well, that’s essentially how I feel about life – full of loneliness, and misery, and suffering, and unhappiness, and it’s all over much too quickly. The… the other important joke, for me, is one that’s usually attributed to Groucho Marx; but, I think it appears originally in Freud’s “Wit and Its Relation to the Unconscious,” and it goes like this – I’m paraphrasing – um, “I would never want to belong to any club that would have someone like me for a member.” That’s the key joke of my adult life, in terms of my relationships with women.Slap Shot
Jim Carr: Oh this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country’s refusal to accept him, well, I guess that’s more than most 21-year-olds can handle… Ogie Ogilthorpe!Oh, and Rushmore– great dark comedy. Bill Murray is excellent in it.

julianModeratorThanks for the clip!
On the slow attack settings it sounds like there is a short delay before the attack sweep starts. Am I just hearing things, or is there actually a bit of delay, or is it just sweeping through the inaudible frequencies? I’m thinking it’s the latter because a lot of low pass filters do that
Also curiously about how the filter starts to sound when the Q is cranked, down sweeps, and distortion for your next clip.
julianModeratortrying to find a working link I found a picture of you and your girlfriend
