It’s got a reverse polarity tip. Same size as the line 6 connector for their modeler pedals.
I don’t think you want unregulated though, that would cause some fluctuations in voltage, which I don’t think would be ideal.
I run my HOG off 250ma from my PP2+ with the reverse polarity (center positive cable) supplied with it.
julianModeratorMaybe it’s a patch cable problem. I’ve had that sort of stuff happen with bad patch cables.
julianModeratorQuote:How do you get around the pedals effecting the tone when bypassed? Has anyone used a buffer? I’m thinking of picking one up to see how it works, but would appreciate any suggestions.Well I’ve got a mix of true bypass and buffered bypass pedals that have pretty good buffers.
julianModerator2880 or Boomerang 3.
If you take the time to learn midi with the 2880 you could program a bunch of cool stuff as well.
julianModeratorWell if you were to use it as a recorder, you can only record two tracks simultaneously.
I think you could put the 2880 in the FX loop, but if you want the best recorded sound, it’s always best to mic the amp. Because the output tubes, transformer, and speaker all effect the sound greatly.
julianModeratorAwesome!
julianModeratorIf I had some spare change right now I’d get one, but I can’t.
julianModeratorPedal Power 2+:
Why?
1. It can power everything the BBE can
2. it has a courtesy outlet in case you have a pedal it can’t power
3. The 5 and 6 outlets have 50ma more each (which can be the difference between adequately powering and not adequately powering some digital pedals)
4. 7 and 8 outputs on the PP2+ have dying battery simulators- a nice added feature.July 28, 2009 at 4:30 am in reply to: Stereo Memory Man Echo/Chorus and Deluxe Memory Man Classic Chassic adapter question. #100041julianModeratorIf the voltage is correct, too much current doesn’t do anything. I’m sure the SMME/C will be fine with the 100ma one.
The only thing you have to remember with current is that too little current and a pedal might not have enough power to turn on, or it will operate noisily.
julianModeratorin line
But then again, I’ve got a high wattage amp and depend on my pedals for dirt.
I just got a sweet low wattage amp yesterday though, and I don’t mind running effects in-line. Yeah, the can sound dirty, but that’s part of the charm of the amp in the first place. It’s unforgiving and rock and roll.
julianModeratorQuote:the memory boy sounds weird. the decays of it. one super clear repeat and straight into analogue murk. i think i like the memory toy more. i really like the toy.someone on haunting mids pointed to that as the signature sound of a memory man.
I don’t know. I don’t really care about the quality of the repeats. I just want to go crazy on an expression pedal with it.
julianModeratorI’d like something very powerful and compact. Give me three footswitches, and a hazarai knob to change the third footswitches function. And also another hazarai knob to change expression function.
julianModeratorIt stinks having to go off the NAMM videos.
Scott’s been quiet though. I bet he’s up to something!
julianModeratorOK
so first place I looked was 1 second plus echo. I know I’ve set it to have 3 short equal volume repeats so that I could make it sound like I was strumming 3 chords faster than humanly possible.
So here’s what I came up with- every knob at 12 o’clock. Tremelecho. Not perfect, but its interesting. You can adjust delay to give you a sort of a “rate” control and repeats too add more or less echo. Tone can be adjust to taste.
Then I went in to reverse mode, because I’ve got ring mod sounds and I’ve got sample and hold filter sounds, why not trem sounds?
So do Blend and Filter at 12 o’clock, decay and repeats all the way down, Delay just a hair past 9’o clock. Gives a subtle fast trem/leslie sound.
julianModeratorthe mod section can’t do the best leslie because the rate is so slow. If it could do really fast rate it would be better at it.
