Listen to the copy of Sabotage by Black Sabbath I just bought today. Two dollars well spent. Damn good album!!!
:metal:
Also procrastinating at cleaning. I’m trying to start my own pedal making thing, and I really need to clean set-up my work room.
julianModeratorI’d vote for hard enough to be sent out.
Have you looked inside the HOG? It’s really complicated.
September 2, 2009 at 5:08 pm in reply to: Electro-Harmonix Effectology, Vol.6 “The Mellotron” #101115julianModeratorI’ve been able to get sounds resembling mellotron voices using half-cocked freeze gliss on my HOG
julianModeratorI want a HOG with even more features. Full midi CC control over everything, detune, more freeze modes, 2 octave bends, adjustable bends (toe up = down a 4th, toe down = up a 5th, that kind of stuff,) and whatever else could be done.
julianModeratorHOG doesn’t have detuned sliders. That’s it really.
julianModeratorRiddle is much more versatile than a Qtron, so it’d get my vote.
julianModeratorWith floyd roses, I just think they are big, clunky, and ugly. They can work fine though. I also don’t like the lack of a third bridge, though admittedly I haven’t been doing many behind the bridge bends lately.
julianModeratorrespect the voltage, the current type (AC or DC), and the polarity, and all should be fine. The HOG works fine with my Pedal Power 2+, but I have to use a special adapter for it because of its polarity.
julianModeratorNice!!!
It looks pretty good.
julianModeratordon’t know much about that guitar, but I love thru-necks.
If I got that, I’d rip the pickups out- and either:
1. Put tele neck pickups in the neck and middle positions, and a wide range in the bridge. Then get cream silver and black hat knobs (think Fender Blender)
2. Put cream colored single coils in the neck and middle, and a cream colored p-90 or humbucker in the bridge. Gold LP style knobs or cream hat knobs.I’m not a big fan of the floyd rose, but I’d have to keep it, since it’s a thru neck you don’t really want to mess with the bridge

I personally want both though!
julianModeratorthere’s the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+.
You could run just about every EH 9v pedal off of it (two high current and a ton of low current ones) as well as any of the 18 or 24V pedals with the right adapters. Plus there is an outlet on the back for what you can’t power.
julianModeratorI’m pretty sure that the patch memory is in the HOG and that the boxes just send the appropriate digital signals to the HOG.
julianModeratorMy assumption would be no.
I don’t know how the HOG was programmed, but I’m assuming that there is an analog to digital converter on one or two pins in there that it is connected to, and that the switch sends a digital signal to the chip to choose what that signal is controlling.
However, of course, because there are wet and dry outs- a volume pedal (or a simple VCA with a CV in) after the wet could work as the Volume function, and since there is a slider for the filter, that could probably be modded to have a CV in as well.
julianModeratorwell they only do pitch, verb, and vocoding stuff. For destroyed, I think you’d need distortion or cigarettes
