spectral gate (alters the harmonic content of the signal, to get more sine-wave like tones)
expression reverse: (changes the direction that the expression pedal works, also allows you to bend notes down)
expression: (changes expression modes- 1 octave bends, 1 step bends, volume, wah, filter, freeze + gliss, freeze +
volume)
Envelope foot switch: turns on/off the attack decay
expression foot switch: acts like pushing down on the expression pedal.
presets:
if you get the preset pedal, you can have six

The selling point is really the expression modes for me. Bending full chords, freezing stuff. Plus all the other controls are icing on the cake.julianModeratorI think someone said December/January
julianModeratorYeah, Zvex pedals are a little expensive for my tastes. I see how he justifies his cost. You’re paying for the paint job, for it being hand-built in the USA, and just for his personal engineering. Things that he values pretty high. And people buy them and he probably does 1/4 to 1/2 a million in sales a year, so he can’t be too far from the mark.
November 7, 2009 at 11:54 pm in reply to: What is the best (EHX) delay pedal to play with high gain distortion??? #103524julianModeratorI think with high gain distortion, you might actually prefer a cleaner digital delay.
julianModeratorI’d throw in copilot fx, Malekko, mellowtone, and fuzzhugger and the brands they sell
julianModeratorI wouldn’t say that Zvex is the only one.
There are a bunch of small and boutique builders making really cool stuff.
November 6, 2009 at 12:45 am in reply to: Please stop the power adapter follies! I guarantee we’ll EHX buy nonstop #103429julianModeratorI don’t mind it. It’s an extra complication in using that pedal, but I’m not going to let those kind of issues stop me from using awesome pedals like the HOG and the Frequency Analyzer.
Daisy Chains are highly impractical IMO. When you mix digital and analog effects, you’re almost destined to get noise. Plus you need separate power supplies for positive ground pedals like the Muff OD or most Tonebender type fuzz pedals.
Dedicated power supplies with isolated outputs are the best.
julianModeratorI didn’t get a Memory Boy yet, so I think I might have to go with the Deluxe Memory Boy.
Anyone know how much the Iron Lung is going to cost?
October 29, 2009 at 4:39 pm in reply to: Dunlop DC Brick problems with Memory Man With Hazarai #102862julianModeratorYeah, all the power is shared on that box. It’s a matter of the Dunlop being poorly designed. The Voodoo Labs is far superior and can handle a lot more.
The Voodoo Labs PP2+ has 2 outputs that put out 250ma, and 6 that put out 100ma, and they’re all isolated from each other. For 18V you need to order a special two dollar cord for it.
julianModeratorgood stuff as usual Bill. I love the Twilight Zone!
October 27, 2009 at 8:59 pm in reply to: What all can the HOG do? Resonator Guitar? Cello? 12 String ? Bass? #102738julianModeratorIt can do a ton of stuff. You can go for certain sounds like in the effectology videos, or you could think of it as a synth as use it for experimentation
julianModeratornone of those would be bad choices, personally I wouldn’t get the clone, but I don’t like chorus
julianModeratorEH People don’t post here much, you might be better off to email them.
October 23, 2009 at 3:50 am in reply to: Can I Use Voice-Box Harmony Machine on a Trumpet During Live Performance #102563julianModeratorNot sure how it would track or sound, but I’m sure you could.
Hog would be good too- the tracking is excellent on the HOG, and it’s more flexible in the harmonies you can do- but it doesn’t do intelligent harmonies. It does cost twice as much though.
I’d suggest finding friends or stores with the products and checking them out, as well as other alternatives.
The voice box would be convenient though because of that XLR in, but you could always get an XLR -> 1/4″ cable.
October 22, 2009 at 1:14 am in reply to: Using 2 Memory Boy Analog Delays with an expression pedal #102515julianModeratorthe simple solution is to drill a hole and add a stereo jack to it, that you’d wire into the potentiometer the same way as pictured. You’d then need a stereo cable to plug into your expression jack.
You might need to clip the one wire on the jack though I’m not sure which one.
