congrats, that’s awesome
julianModeratorMoog EP-2 is 40 dollars and rugged from what I’ve read.
I have the plastic m-audio and I’ve yet to break it, and I’m a 6’5″ 250 lb Viking.
julianModeratorgood to hear, I know I’d miss the hell out of my HOG if I had to send it into EH.
Wow, interesting set-up man.
julianModeratorLooks like a low-end Kay, but the Gretsch looks nice
julianModeratorpretty much what it is, though I think it has JM scale
julianModeratorthink the foot controller is digital, so I don’t think it is possible.
julianModeratoryou might find these of interest:
julianModeratorwell yeah, using it with the daisy chain wouldn’t be advised. Especially since it is center positive and draws a lot of current.
Was it working with the EP-2 before? Have you tried a switch on your EP-2? Can you try out the EP-2 with a different pedal or use a Multimeter to see that it’s sweeping properly?
Otherwise, I’d assume something is wrong inside the pedal, and I’d send it in to EH. Here’s their customer service info page:
julianModeratorYeah. And there’s the Seymour Duncan.
They all have a digital chip that is programmed to analyze the tempo you tap in and translate it to an control voltage to set the delay time on the analog delay chip.
julianModeratorthe second video is even cooler!
julianModeratorgood stuff
I like the book of riddles at the beginning
julianModeratorI edited your post to remove your email. There are spam bots crawling around these forums, I don’t want you to get spammed!!!
This probably isn’t the best place to ask that, since EHX employees don’t really frequent here. I’ll always recommend info@ehx.com. Remember they do get a lot of e-mail, so even if you emailed them before, it might not hurt to e-mail them again. There’s also a few phone numbers listed here: http://newsensor.com/ContactUs.aspx
You could also try messaging them on youtube, asking Effectology (Bill Ruppert) if he could for you, or try PM’ing a few EH staff members on here or even see if it will let you e-mail them.
I don’t really see why you need permission though. Your website could be seen more as a benefit to their business than a detriment. I don’t think EH would be upset about people fantasizing about how their pedals would fit on their current board.
I do have some suggestions for your site though.
1. Custom pedalboard sizes for us DIY types
2. Cable choosing- jacks do stick out. Allow straight, angled, flat, and other types of jacks to be chose
3. Cable length calculator- so you know how long a certain connection has to be.
4. Miscellaneous- Altoids box for picks!
5. Expression pedals
6. Work with this guy to allow for alternate optional cartooned appearance: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?t=1751815BTW none of my pedals are on your site yet
I’ve got:
EHX: HOG, Frequency Analyzer (big), Little Big Muff, Big Muff TW, Bass Big Muff, Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai
DOD: FX-17, 250 OD
Subdecay: Prometheus
Korg: DT-10
Zoom FP-02 expression
M-Audio Expression
CopilotFX Antenna 1julianModeratorI don’t think any pedals can really nail the actual sounds of built-in tube trem. There’s a certain gain/tone alternation that each amp does that fits that amp and no other amp that’s truly wonderful. Sort of the same with tube spring reverb.
Although my main complaint against spring reverb pedals is that they don’t go crazy when you kick them.
julianModeratorpretty much
Before the DMB news came out I was thinking about getting a Memory Boy and making a tap-tempo unit for it.
Basically it would have been a separate pedal that has the Memory Boy (or other delay with expression control over delay time) in the loop and would also be connected to the expression control.
There’d be a tap mode and a calibration mode. In calibration mode, for different values inputted into the delay time expression it would pulse a sound into the loop, and then from the output of the loop listen and calculate the rhythm of the echoes. Then it would make a graph of Expression output vs Rhythm. Then in tap-tempo mode, it would use that data to translate your tempo into an expression output to get the correct rhythm.
I could do this cheaply myself because I already have the hardware and software I need to program a digital chip to do that logic. But for most people to do that, they’d have to also buy hardware and software- and it’s not worth it for a single mod.
And now it’s really not worth it now that the DMB is coming out.
julianModeratorTechnically you can mod any delay for tap tempo, you could program a PIC to do it, but that’s very indepth, and it’d be much cheaper and less time consuming to just get a delay that already has tap tempo
