Monophonic
voices: -1, +1, square, original
1 band attack volume control
attack filter with controllable start/stop and sweep speedto sum it up:
the main draw of the POG2 is that it’s polyphonic, has basic voices, built in presets, and a simple volume attack control and filter with detuned settings. Makes for good organ and other type sounds.
The main draw of the HOG is the multitude of the voices, the expression mode, and the much more versatile volume attack decay control.
The main draw of the Microsynth is the fat analog synth like sound (and many analog synths were monophonic) mixed with the awesome awesome filter. There aren’t any pedals out there that do what the Microsynth’s filter does. Most filter pedals don’t really have smooth sweeps, and they die out when your volume dies out. But the Microsynth filter is only triggered by your attack instead of following it, so it doesn’t have those sometimes bothersome quirks.
julianModeratorheaven does exist!!!!
julianModeratorWe can talk about other brands in the lounge. The lounge can be about EH stuff that doesn’t fit into the other categories, or just off-topic stuff.
julianModeratorcool stuff
I love experimenting with feedback loops, though I don’t have a feedback loop pedal. I really should make one sometime.
BTW what works great with the HOG in feedback loops is to play with the attack envelope sliders a lot.
julianModeratorCaution- 2880 is Center Positive (reverse polarity)
julianModeratorjulianModeratorI wouldn’t even really say Bowie ever totally reinvented himself. It was sort of a gradual progression from one thing to another.
Now the Beastie Boys. . . they totally reinvented themselves
julianModeratorOn the same thing you could mention Rick Froberg who was also in Hot Snakes and Drive Like Jehu, and now has Obits
julianModeratorI’d say Guy and Brendan as well because they were in Rites of Spring, Happy Go Licky, and One Last Wish (which I like more than Minor Threat personally.)
Steve Albini comes to mind- Shellac, Big Black, Rapeman.
Jeff Pezzatti and Santiago Durango- Big Black, Naked Raygun
Bob Weston- Volcano Suns, Mission of Burma, Shellac
Peter Prescott- Volcano Suns, Mission of Burma
I can think of a ton.
How about Bernard Sumner and Peter Hook- Joy Division and New Order
julianModeratorNothing really. It stinks.
Well, except for Phil O’Keefe. He’s awesome.
julianModeratorWell they don’t know if he accessed our info. . .
I haven’t got any junkmail yet, so I think I might be safe
julianModeratorI know. . . the only time when I wanted on HCFX.
We should start talking about WIIOs and M9s in the lounge then we’ll replace them.
julianModeratorCould you indicate what you have and what you don’t have and what you’re going for?
julianModeratorI’d rock it. You’ve got most of the essentials covered.
