Hey, Aen’s a nice guy. Didn’t realize he was Dwarfcraft.
I think it is more of a testament to how quick you can learn how to build pedals more than anything.
And that weird-ass pedals with cool graphics sell.

Not to mention that a lot of phasers and other pedals have those inside them right next to an LED to convert things.
julianModeratorQuote:i really need to know what the price for this pedal will be, cuz this will be the deciding factor for whether or not i get this or the frequency analyzer come early march.I think it will be same ballpark or a little bit more than the frequency analyzer.
I’m thinking the differentiation between the EH ring mods will be as follows:
XO Frequency Analyzer: Small for small pedalboards, simple, great analog sound
XO Ring Thing: super versatile, live performance friendly
Big Box Frequency Analyzer: Big, clunky, awesome looks, great analog tone, and incredibly mod friendly.I just have the big Box Frequency Analyzer and I want to buy another to put in my synth rig, though I do also want an XO frequency Analyzer and a Ring Thing and a Moog.
I’m a total Ring Modulation junkie!
julianModerator+ one for Tone Wicker.
Other recommendation I’d have would be to check out some of Catalinbread’s offerings. Especially the SFT. I’ve been GASSING for one of those for awhile.

What photocells are you using?
I use photocells in the aforementioned set-up for digital to analog conversion for a pedal I’ve been designing. I was using Silonex TO-5, but I’m going to try out the 10k Futurlec ones and see if I can get the same range with them.
julianModeratorsounds like it is definitely a loose connection

You’ll get a much much better range.
julianModeratorIt’s 2.1 mm 9v center negative.
julianModeratorthat’s a great idea!
I don’t have that style battery door, but best of luck to you!
julianModeratorI just take off my strap buttons, put the strap there, and then screw the strap buttons back in through the strap. That works.

julianModeratorthe ring mod on the SMMH isn’t that great. It’s kind of neat, but as far as ring mod sounds go, it’s pretty meh.
julianModeratorwhen I hear the words “triggered wah” I would think that it would be less like an envelope filter and more like triggered sweep filter on the Microsynth. I’m probably wrong though.
julianModeratordo you have the pedal in an FX loop?
Where do you have blend set to? (if you set blend too high it drops the volume)
julianModeratorWell I wouldn’t make any permanent mods, just switchable ones. I can switch my frequency analyzer to be stock by just flipping a couple switches, and that’s what I was thinking with the SS.
