Unfortunately no . From the manual, it only takes pitch wheel change data via MIDI.
I have dreamed about a full midi HOG. There’d be some pretty neat things you could do with it, especially if it had both a midi in & out.

Stinks because I always wanted one & now they’re way more than I’d ever pay.
Maybe they’ll come out with an XO version.
December 4, 2012 at 3:24 am in reply to: The What Is The Current Draw For That EHX Pedal Thread #118486julianModeratorHow about the Ravish & the Ring Thing?
I’m curious as to how many digital EHX pedals the Pedal Power Digital can power. It’s got 4 isolated 400ma outs.
julianModeratorNope, and most of the comments on the video are positive, maybe your standards are just higher than the general public’s?
Personally, I don’t expect huge technical proficiency or perfect sounding stuff with a pedal demo. I just want to hear what it sounds like & see some of the different things it can do so I can get an idea of how I might use it. The main thing I’d fault the guy on is for only demonstrating a couple higher gain sounds & very low gain sounds. I would have liked to hear some medium gain sounds out of it as well, would have liked to have heard how it could have beefed up his wimpy tele tone.
I wouldn’t expect a pro-demo of the LPB-2ube anytime soon, it’s been around for a long time & they only really make demos of the new stuff. When the tube pedals were released EH had a CD of a bunch of their pedals being demo’d by Peter Stroud, but they didn’t do the LPB-2ube for some reason. I’m sure the gain circuits in them are pretty similar & maybe you could listen to some of Peter Stroud’s demos of the other tube pedals to get a better idea for the LPB-2ube?
Although really you should take any demo of a gain pedal with a grain of salt since it’s going to probably sound different through your rig anyways.
julianModeratorAdmittedly, I don’t have perfect pitch, but I listened to the aforementioned demo & it didn’t bug me too much. Sounds like the B or high E’s a little out & the playing on the clean parts are a bit sloppy, but I’d say over all it was a good demo. He gets a couple good tones out of it. Honestly when it comes to amateur demos, all I want to hear are some simple chords & leads to see how a pedal sounds. It doesn’t have to be tuned perfectly. In fact if you’re using a 12 note per octave system you’ll never be perfectly in tune because of the imperfections of the chromatic scale, and even with that, unless you’ve got a guitar that has custom shaped frets, you’ll never have perfect intonation within the imperfect chromatic scale. This guy of course could have maybe intonated or tuned better, but really I don’t think it had a negative affect on his video.
And well they can’t control what goes up on youtube and trying to do so would alienate customers and impose certain standards that shouldn’t be imposed on musicians on the first place.
julianModeratoroh damn, that looks cool. DI out too. If I ever play bass in a band again I could just take that & a bass to a show & leave the amp at home.
October 8, 2012 at 3:53 pm in reply to: Ring Thing powered by Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2? (Not “Plus”) #118224julianModeratorThe red cable reverses the polarity of the power for pedals that take center positive (as opposed to the normal center negative) power, for example, since my EHX Hog takes center positive power, I use it on one of the high current outputs on my PP2+ with a red cable. However, since my SMMH is center negative, I use it on one of the 200 ma outputs but with a black cable.
I didn’t answer earlier because I wasn’t sure of the difference between the + and your version, but since you have the 200ma 9v line six outputs, I think that should be satisfactory, but don’t use the red tipped cable, use the black, because the ring thing is center negative as indicated by the symbol on top of it.
Whenever powering pedals (or anything DC) you need to remember 3 things: voltage, amperage, and polarity.
julianModeratorIt’s not quite 10 years old, POG might be 10, but HOG came out like 5 or 6 years ago.

I am a pedalboard user, but the Crying Tone has no moving parts. Will it work on a Pedaltrain, or will it have to stay off the board?I think you’d have to modify it in some way to put it on a pedalboard, by the looks of it.
julianModeratorand if it’s a linear sweep, it won’t be quite right
julianModeratorChorus : subtle settings can thicken your sound quite nicely, i think it sounds better on synth than guitar
Phase: I like Small Stone with the color switch off on a slow to medium setting
Reverb/Delay: additional awesomeness
Octavers: Nice way of thickening your sound as well. As cryabetes said the HOG is pretty awesome, I like mine with my synth.
Fuzz: Fuzz is awesome on synth, love my big muff. Used to have a French Toast (Foxx Tone Machine clone) that I think would be awesome on synth, but I don’t think I ever tried it.
Ring Modulator: All synths need this. Love my frequency analyzer.
Other: I don’t have a ravish sitar, but I think the sympathetic voices would work really well with a synth. Not sure about the lead voices though. Loopers are cool too.I had a synth board for awhile, I think it was 3 fuzzes and a small stone.
But I think if I were to do an all synth board, here’s what I’d consider:
Octave > Octave Fuzz > Fuzz > Ring Mod > Chorus > Phaser > Analog Delay > Digital Delay > Looper > Reverb
This is completely ignoring your needs & just doing what I’d think is fun for leads, bass, & ambience.

Any bypass function? Or just turning the effect knob down?
It appears there are both momentary and latch modes.
As far as the FX loop, not sure, I’ve never had an EHX pedal with an FX loop. If it doesn’t, you could wire up a position switcher to switch the pedals from being in the FX loop to in your chain.

julianModerator550’s really all you need, isn’t it?
