I’ve never had a problem with the screws threading out on my EHX pedals. . . maybe you got unlucky. Though the screws are a bit too big to fit through bike chain.
Which reminds me, I need to get a new power drill so I can widen the holes in some bike chain so I don’t have to wedge it in there like I’ve been doing.
julianModeratorI’ve never had a problem with noise when I stop playing with it on so much as feedback. But then I turn on my HOG and hit the expression pedal hard and make it sound like a car is crashing and I smile.
julianModeratorHave you tried the clone theory? No blend knob, but it is a bit less intense sounding IMO and it has stereo.
julianModeratorI personally like pedals to go beyond my needs/purposes.
julianModeratorooh I should try spraying deoxit in my frequency analyzer. . . I’ve occasionally had problems with my switch and I’ve always just been lazy instead of replacing it. Now I’ve got a lazy solution that doesn’t involve replacing it!
julianModeratorOr if you turn it on and off really fast it’s a manual square wave tremolo
julianModeratorI need to eventually try both the solid-state one and the tube one. The solid-state one is supposed to be very unique. And Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth (my very favorite band) uses it.
julianModeratorIt sounds like it could possibly be the original Triangle Muff, because Mike said it’s exactly the same as the original Big Muff Pi but with the added tone wicker and tone bypass controls. But I could very well be wrong, it could be the latest NYC Big Muff and I’m just over analyzing each of Mike’s words. But that’s what I do.
I’m sure Fuzz, Mike, or Scott can answer that with actual knowledge and not just assumptions

Blend: to taste
filter: to taste, I usually maybe 11 o clock or so
decay: down all the way
repeats: set between 9 and 1 o clock
delay time- set between 100 and 300 or so milliseconds to tastehit a chord and listen to that beautiful “random filter” like sound as the chord decays
Quote:This is a quite good preset. Not that useful for individual notes or anything, but soo much fun for volume swells. Dial in a nice clean sound, switch to the neck pickup and swell some chords. Tonal heaven.Blend: Around 12 o’ clock. Doesn’t matter too much.
Decay: 12 o’ clock.
Filter: 12 o’ clock.
Repeats: Just above 12 o’ clock, there should be 15 repeats.
Delay: Adjust according to taste and how long you want the swells to continue ringing, but mine is around 11 o’ clock.Mode: Multi tap, 1 or 3 seconds.
Quote:Ok, time for me to contribute another setting. I found this weird, synth-like sitar setting just a bit ago.Blend: 12:00
Decay: 9:00
Filter: 12:00
Repeats: 2:00
Delay time: 8:00
Hazari: 1 Sec ModeThe delay time is tricky to tune in *just* right. Too much and you end up with a feed-backy ring-mod type sound. Too little and it just won’t sound all that different. Just right and you have a sitar.
I got the best results on the bridge pickup of my Strat and with the SMMH going into an LPB-1 with the boost at about 11:00. It sounded fine without the LPB1 as well, but the LPB1’s extra gain helped it get a little more chimey.
It sounded pretty good with dirt and fuzz as well. Big Muffed Sitar FTW!
Well that’s it for condensing pages 1-30.
If someone wants to do the rest before I get around to it, be my guest!

In fact, I did not record a clip of the FH using any flanger settings. :freak: The FH is capable of much more than just flange.FH_SMMH_demo1: FH is set for ring modulator / SMMH is set for quick stereo delay
FH_SMMH_demo2: FH is set for self-oscillations / SMMH is set for stereo slapback delay

Let me know what you guys think ,
You can tweak the filter to your liking.Quote:it’s very different than the DMM but it’s more useful for my purposes. you can sort of approximate the DMM in the 300 ms+ mod mode. i do an A/B between this and my DMM here:Quote:reverse setting
decay all the way down, repeats at 9, delay between 12 and 3.Try arpeggiating and doing slow finger style stuff and let as many notes as you can ring out. The reverse echo really textures everything you play. Don’t think of it as a tempo echo, but more as a texture echo, like how you’d use an analog delay on the verge of self oscillation.
Quote:Quote:Been fiddling with my SMMH more, and it’s definitely growing on me! Just thought I’d bump up a good thread. Also, here is a setting I use a lot. It’s kind of a leave it on all the time setting. Subtle ambience 😎

Decay: Off
Filter: 10:00
Repeats: 8:30
Delay: 12:00
Mode: 1 sec, echoQuote:Ok, I recorded a couple clips just now to show some of the settings of the SMMH. I used an Ibanez AS80 Artstar (ES-335 copy) w/ GFS Mean90s – both pups engaged. Played through the Line 6 KB37 which is basically a toneport built into a MIDI controller. If I was more motivated, I would have plugged into my POD XT Live and ran the Stereo outs. Maybe another time. The settings on the KB37 was the Double Verb (Twin model) w/ 2×12 “black face” cab. I placed the virtual mic up to the cab. On the Loop clip I used the “4×12 1978 Brit Celest 75 cab”Oh yeah, a big bottle of white wine was involved. Didn’t finish it, but put a heft dent in it. Ooops.
Hope you enjoy it. Thanks to Fender&EHXforever;for posting the settings for the chorus and flange. I just got the unit and it would have taken me a bit to find those settings again. Peace.
The first one up is a Chorus sound: Chorus
Next is the Flange:
FlangeHere is a function where you play w/ delay and when you step down and hold the tap/record button, you get a cool reverse delay in addition:
Fade in ReverseLastly, here’s a loop I did. It’s basically one track of just a straight signal, then a cool oscillating slightly reversed delay, and a third track that is strictly 100% wet signal reverse delay.
