I’m waiting til they are an Ebay store and I can do the Live.com thing
julianModeratorThe ibanez probably has more treble roll off on the wet signal, cutting down on the noise.
All analog delay based things are noisy in the higher frequencies, which is why many are voiced dark, and any brightly voiced choruses, flangers, and delays are a bit noisy. It’s just part of the nature of the beast known as the BBD. But no digital chorus will sound as good as it, so you’ve got a trade off.
But yeah, best you can do is stick it in your FX loop. Or you could turn your amp volume down a bit and put a boost like an LPB-1 in front of it.
julianModeratorCould you post your full rig that you use it with?
Generally the more signal going into it, the better the signal to noise ratio

when I feel like it sometime I’m going to go into the tube zipper and flanger hoax lounges on HC and copy paste all the cool settings.

Like post your and name a setting that you use on one of your EHX pedals. So then we’d have a whole bunch of settings for the clips and tricks forum.

maybe an essay then
or allow for multiple kinds of submissionsDecember 10, 2008 at 9:12 pm in reply to: Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai tips, tricks, and clips #88898julianModeratorif there is a volume drop, you could always put a 2 channel mixer and a volume pedal on your board.
Split the signal right before the SMMH (either use a stereo out from a pedal or get a Y cable)
One signal to the mixer
one signal to the SMMH, which then goes to the volume pedal, which then goes to the mixer.
Change all your presets to 100% wetI run a similar set up (except no mixer, I just use the separate channels on my amp)
Since the SMMH and the dry volume are set differently, using the SMMH will not drop the volume. (make sure to rock back on the volume pedal when you want your SMMH off, otherwise it will, because when the SMMH is off it would boost the dry signal)December 10, 2008 at 5:09 pm in reply to: Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai tips, tricks, and clips #88876julianModeratoryeah you can use both inputs, I believe if you’re using just the mono out it sums them
I’ve never put the SMMH in a loop, though I have played it straight into my friends HRD at practice once no problems (though I did use my pedals for dirt)Edit: wait, actually I used my SMMH into the PA that time, because I require an amp with 2 separate channel inputs and one of the inputs on his HRD was broken.
julianModeratorQuote:Quote:maybe an Electro-Harmonix by Fender guitar then Ned Flandersalthough I’d have to disagree with your sentiment
give me a thru-neck with a tune-o-matic any day over a fender
!
I’m not too into guitars that lack a 3rd bridge (so jaguars and jazzies are cool with me)
My two guitars of choice are jaguars and mustangs, I have one of each, a 1966 mustang in daphne blue and a vintage white CIJ jaguar with humbuckers I installed in it.
I’m a BIG fan of third bridges too!!!A collaboration between EHX and Fender would be good, jaguars equiped with some super secret EHX effects or something….
Yeah, I don’t use it often, but I don’t feed right when I don’t have the third bridge to do those cool bends and also get those plinky sounds from time to time.
Jaguar with a built in low pass filter whose cut off frequency is decided by what the highest fret you’re on. That’d be crazy.
julianModeratorYes I do
It’s got a bunch of little things that aren’t really in the manual.
Like the ooh-way/sample and hold setting. . .
(didn’t you post one in the SMMH thread? I did too, but nobody seemed to notice it when I posted it)
julianModeratorI phrased that badly
It’s the first EH pedal I ever got, I’ve owned it for 5-6 years.
julianModeratorI’d regard them as instruments!
julianModeratornitefly didn’t do that one, Beavis did it for him
I inquired with Beavis about having him do the same stuff for mine, plus maybe some extra stuff
and he said that it would be better for me just to do it myself
I decided against it though I am going to add in the carrier in thing
