but it still worked off a battery right?
julianModerator55 watts?
damn
julianModeratorI know I want one- they’re rechargeable amps
how much were they?julianModeratorI see
julianModeratorI got the guitar yesterday
it is super cool, plays pretty nice too
I kind of want one for myself nowjulianModeratordoes it change the sound or reduce headroom at all?
julianModeratorworks for me
julianModeratorvery tidy board sir!
personally I’d go for the SMMH over the number one echo, it’s just so much more versatile, even for just simple echos because of the decay and filter controls. And it isn’t that much bigger really.
julianModeratorsounds like maybe the power jack is having some problems
julianModeratorit is for cleaning switches and pots, just any electrical contacts really
you should be able to get it at most hardware storesjulianModeratoralso, the only midi info you can send to the HOG is pitch wheel right?
julianModeratorcould be a faulty/dirty switch
open your POG up and take a peak inside. Look for loose wires. If you don’t see any, spray a tiny bit of deoxit into the mechanical part of the switch and work it a few times. If that doesn’t do anything, you’ll probably need to send it in.julianModeratorooh ooh I gotta few
This is among the worst gigs I’ve ever played:
in some kids backyard. My sister’s ex boyfriend and his friend were there heckling me, it was really cold outside, and I could barely feel the frets on my guitar. It was back in the days of borrowing amps too. Probably my 2nd or 3rd show with my former one man band, the Spectral Presence. (which was down tempo 1 guitar and drum machine shoegazy post-punk)
Here’s another one:
me playing bass in my friend’s band
We were playing outside in the summer, so it wasn’t nearly as cold. We were playing for people waiting outside of Gamestop for whatever the newest Madden was that year. Haha.
And another
this was my first show ever 5 years ago around Xmas time- I had 4 noisy punk rock songs that I wrote- Nighingale, Labrat, 3rd World Hero, and something else I can’t even remember. I used 4 pedals- a blues driver, a frequency analyzer, a crybaby, and a johnson delay that my friend and I rehoused and added an expression pedal to control the time knob. So basically my board was all about making noises. And I practiced with the drummer and bass player once. So after about 2 songs in, my guitar went out of tune, so I just kept playing, and began improvising the lyrics. 3rd World Hero was about the desire to liberate sex slaves in poor countries by the force of a gun. So yeah. . . fun times. My hair was down to my shoulders back then.
another:
I can’t find the unprocessed version of this picture, but this was my first gig as “the spectral presence” about 3 years ago, notice the fabio cardboard cut out in my friends basement in the backgroundthis was about a year and a half ago, last gig I played I think.
man my hair looked so dumbso my band did this 20 minute song to end our show- so in the middle of the song I asked the celloist in this other band for his bow
so he brought it up and started playing that thing too
fun times
BTW I’m never having a haircut like that again
I look like a total dorkjulianModeratorDr. Matt
instead of spending 100 pounds
buy a few 2x4s
buy a box of drywall screws (about 4 inches in length is perfect)
buy some shorter screws
buy a bike chain tool
get some broken bike chainyou need 4 2x4s to be the length of the depth of your board, plus 4 to be the length of your board. (plus a few more if you want it angled)
arrange them in a grid
use some drywall screws and screw them together. Use about 2 per place where they meet. That will make it really sturdy
stain and clear coat it if you want, it will look a lot nicer if you do
use the bike repair tool to take apart the bike chain into a bunch of little links
use these with the little screws as mounting brackets for your pedals
voila!
you’ve got a super tidy board pretty cheap
all you need now is a case that fits it
julianModeratorbig muffs!
wooh!
