Oh definitely. I’d love if it would just loop to the nearest beat. So then I could make a 3, 4, 5, 7 or however many beat loop I want. Same thing for the start. Just let me start when I want and sync me to the nearest beat. Don’t force me to start on the 1.
Relating to MIDI, I really would love some CC controls for making remote adjustments from my MIDI controller/FX looper
julianModeratorI’ve had a plan in my head to eventually get a big loop switcher for which I’d need to make some custom patch cables. I was also thinking how nice it would be to add locking input and output jacks to my board & found that BTPA.com has an interesting selection of that sort of stuff. Haven’t got anything yet but I probably will eventually.
julianModeratorI wonder if EHX sells enough HOG 2s to make a HOG 3.
As a HOG 2 user, I don’t see many other people using them/I think people often want some of the features but not everything the HOG 2 offers, which might be why EH has put the best HOG features into other pedals.
But if they could make a HOG 3 that was the size of an Ocean’s 12/Grand Canyon, I could go down a pedalboard size. I’d just want them to expand the MIDI functionality & make the attack/decay patchable to functions other than volume.
julianModeratorIsn’t the OP’s problem what a lot of people just end up doing naturally with gear?
I currently own 5 EH pedals but I used to have a lot more. I went through a few different muffs before I landed on the green Russian reissue (although I really would like to try the Triangle and Ram’s Head reissues as well now.) Everyone’s got different guitars and different amps, so no drive is going to be one size fits all.
I went through several EH modulation pedals but found that I couldn’t work enough modulation into my playing to make them worth the board space.
I’ve sold a couple because I needed cash and knew I’d eventually upgrade to an improved offering of EH’s.
julianModeratorI think everyone wants really specific things out of different loopers, that’s why there are so many different options. The 1440 is a nice compromise between size & power for me and personally I don’t need 6 hours of recording. It’s nice that I can pull my loops via USB but for me it’s mainly a writing/experimentation tool.
julianModeratorI don’t think that would work because those pedals process a signal into organ/mellotron sounds. It’s not like they’re taking your guitar and then having it control a MIDI instrument. I agree though. A pocket mellotron for keys would be terrific.
However, just a 9 pedal with Midi preset/parameter control would be very useful on its own.

“We hope to release the windows version of the 1440 app by the end of this week.”Nice!
julianModeratorQuote:Hi, when will the Windows version of the download/upload App be available? Just looking for an approximate time frame – thanks.I’d like to know as well. Usually info@ehx.com responds pretty quickly if you wanna ask them.
julianModeratorI’ve never tried them, some people swear by them, other people have said they’re pretty prone to failure. I’ve also heard that the best solution is to just solder your own, which I’ve tried and it’s a pain in the butt, although I was using pancake plugs and I think maybe the cable was too thick/my solder & my iron combo weren’t ideal.
julianModeratorI’ve been waiting for this for awhile. Ordering one soon.
julianModeratorHey, not an EHX employee (just a volunteer moderator) so I’m not entirely sure, but I’m also getting a 1440.
Usually when EH announces a pedal, there’s a product page with a PDF manual.

It appears the MIDI in jack is 5 pin, so I’d assume you’d just need to have a 1/8″ TRS to 5 pin DIN MIDI cable. I’ve played around with some synths that have the TRS and usually what I’ve seen on them is you’ll have a little TRS to female MIDI that you can then plug a longer MIDI into.
May 30, 2020 at 1:13 pm in reply to: Can I stop my 45000 looper from immediately recording as soon as I hit play in Ableton? #126125julianModeratorI’m not sure how to do it in Ableton, but there should be a way to send clock but not send start/stop data.
julianModeratorI don’t have an attack decay, but I’ve used MIDI CCs on my HOG 2 to adjust the attack time, and yeah, it works to an extent- but there’s a skill curve. You gotta coordinate your foot movement to your playing. I don’t think it’s ever going to sound as good as real reverse, but if you want it in real-time it’s the way to go.
Another thing you could do would be to use a looper with a reverse function, one shot mode, and ideally some memory so you could have it already in there before the gig. So all you gotta do then is hit the play button when it’s time for your reverse riff or solo.
julianModeratorThat 1440 Looper looks super cool. Can’t wait to find out more
julianModerator-MIDI CC for Wah (currently you can only control wah via midi if it’s set as the expression setting)
-MIDI CC for bending or make it so that the pitchwheel CC is dedicated to the bend (because pitchwheel doesn’t really make sense for any of the other expression modes anyways) with a CC toggle for step/octave
-Expanded freeze functionality. I’d like to be able to do any of the tricks the superego+ can do, whilst also still having the original freeze/gliss mode.
-An editing app for phones/desktops with maybe some under the hood functionality -
