I mostly play bass, but my primary guitar of late has been a ’63 Fender Jaguar through an old Gibson Invader amp.
JRigglesMemberI might recommend that you look up the Jawari circuit designed by Tim Escobedo…It’s mad simple, and sounds pretty good.
JRigglesMemberLeaning towards the Micro POG, but I might consider the Mole or the Knockout…
JRigglesMemberMy pedalboard has finally arrived! Pics will be posted soon!
JRigglesMemberAmbient chilly bluesey stuff…wooo
JRigglesMemberI’ve got one that I use w/ my Jag & old Gibson tube amp – it sounds fantastic. I swapped out the EHX 12AY7s for some old (really old) 12AT7s I had. The change was subtle, but I dig it.
JRigglesMemberI dig it I may have to give the 12AY7s a run myself…
P.S. They’re totally wicked, Master Melx.JRigglesMemberThat’s about what I figured…
JRigglesMemberTo quote the manual:
Quote:WARNING: Use only the 9.6VDC/200mA AC adapter the Holy Grail + comes supplied with. Do not use any other AC adapters. Using other AC adapters, even those made by Electro-Harmonix, could cause harm to the unit, the adapter or you. The Holy Grail + does not use batteries. However, as far as I understand it, the power supplies are rated for a maximum current draw (somone please correct me if this is not the case). At any rate, your 300mA supply isn’t putting out 300mA all the time, but it can supply up to 300mA. Seening as the HG+ should only need 200mA or less, you should be fine (again, someone please correct me if necessary). Also, to be honest, I’m using the VL Pedal Power and that beast claims it can supply up to 750mA (on the output I’m using to supply my HG+) and mine’s totally fine. I hope this helps!
JRigglesMemberCrack it open and see if there’s a trimpot that controls the input signal level, that’s probably a good place to start.
JRigglesMemberThe only issue I think you might run into is not getting enough current to the HG+. It’s a digital pedal, so it’s a tad power hungry…however, operating it at a lower current shouldn’t do any damage (worst-case is it just doesn’t turn on). Cheers.
JRigglesMemberMe too andvari7…me too. If you can find an old one, go for it. It might be a tad worn, but wahs are pretty easy to fix (all things being relative).
JRigglesMemberI use my SP for bass…I love it. I’ve not tried messing with the gain trim, but I’m inclined to give it a shot and see what happens.
JRigglesMember“In Soviet Russia…!” No?
JRigglesMemberI wouldn’t mind a S&H of some kind – like the HOG’s freeze/gliss…that way I could freeze a note/chord and jam away!
