Almost thought there was a suggestion for another Proco Rat clone. Phew! (but maybe given recent pedal clones?)

From the title i though: impulse responses, convolution reverb but in some kind of pedal format…
…so you could use it like a looper but instead of reverb upload anything and mix together sounds to weird effect.

now that would be cool! one up on the vocoder, perhaps, but no obtainable convolution hardware, let alone pedal exists.

I don’t care about the reverb as much just the unintended use as an effect mixing up instruments

Love that video, i haven’t really seen much on this 8-step.

I’m interested now, but I’d probably get a drum machine for it too which i also want to see more indepth videos on.

am impressed by how much it wounds like an organ.

Its likely combining pitch, chorus, leslie/tremolo effect with some kind of compressor/expander but somehow sounds more organy than you could get. perhaps some wave shaping or granular shifting like superego going on there (or is that just me assuming there aren’t any new effects?). Was really expecting just a POG variation, tuned for organy sounds but is really just a ‘shimmer’ effect, like the earthquaker organizer does but it actually is an organ sound!
I can get different organ sounds with fuzz and vibrato effect with maybe pitch shift, but not these.

I wonder what other instruments ehx could imitate-to follow their sitar pedal as well. Maybe strings-some of the hazarai reverse settings get extremely like a string section, especially with a pitch shifter behind it.
Piano would be cool too, as in a sustain pedal, like a variation of the freeze that works like that.

Makes me want to experiment with effects a lot….getting dangerous ideas!

just tried it. found the desoldering impossible- i haven’t really done much of that before.
used desoldering braid but it looks excactly the same as when i started.

    any tips?

1.to add to that- sort out volume loss!

2.make loop a stop/start switch instead. i dont know who else likes having to hold down the switch to record, on other loopers i love running off to other instruments and pedals in sound-on-sound looping which you cant do. plus its harder to get the end of the loop in time when you have to release it to stop a dub.

    3. not having to go to bypass to switch off loop play… i might still want delays after i stop the loop!

    4. easier way of erasing loop w/out bypass, and ability to undo the last loop played so a whole wall of sound isnt screwed up by a wrong note.

    5. just making the looping section more independant… if you have the repeat knob set for your echo sound, then start a loop it will keep that setting, and start making the last loop attenuate- it would be easier if the looper had no attenuation of the previous loops unless you actually change it(i expect most people use that)

    6. some kind of ‘compression’ to the loop, because if i build up a sound it just gets louder and louder when i put new parts in and overdrives the amp. this is ok for one-man-band things, but not so much for shoegazey layers… my boss gt6b, which i replaced with this had no problem here, but i find th hazarai i keep having to reach for the blend knob. just some consideration of practical levels somehow- i guess compression, or volume change depending on how many loops are added.

maybe a ‘memory man 2880’ or ‘memory man 16 sec’ could be a good combination…
