….anyway I thought this thread was about our favorites, not ‘the best’ or whatever?

I would never claim that Bob Mould is the greatest guitarist or even up there with the greats like Hendrix ….. but he’s still my favorite. :rawk:

i always thought of bob mould as a songwriter more than a guitar player

Sonic youth isn’t punk, SY is definitely avant-garde. Kinski is another avant-garde band I like too.

I guess we could all use a course in labels. :D I’ve been a huge SY fan for almost 20 years now, but I always thought of them as an art-rock band. Avant-garde is so passé… :P

Look at the definition of “avant-garde”, SY fit it perfectly!

So does Bjñ¶rk. Bjñ¶rk is not art rock, SY are. :)

i always talked about avant garde as free form “beat” jazz

i’ve been hesitating about the jagmaster, but it seems like a solid guitar, and the squier duo sonic would be cool if it was a diff finish and a rosewood fretboard

Is there a special tool to remove those ridged ring washers on old stomp switches like the ones on the old Big Muffs? Something like a socket that fits onto them rather than trying to get them on and off with pliers (which doesn’t work so well and ends up chewing the ridges up).

    have you tried big tweezewr?
