The EHX guitar synthesizer is the coolest thing by far that I have ever plugged my guitar into. It really should be revisited with the added capability of 8-12 presets and the benefit of the last 30+ years of better understanding tracking capabilities.

I’m really surprised that over the years I haven’t heard more discussions or audio snippets. Here‘s an old 1985 cassette I converted today that hints at the majestic (and yes, glitchy if you weren’t playing a strong single note phrase) places it could go. Without presets, I never felt comfortable enough to try using it live for the tuned voices’ patches I’d come up with, but it was an amazing sound.

By the way, does Julia or any of the present-day owners of one of these know the size socket needed to undo the 4 main sockets that hold the faceplate on? 1/2″ is too big and 3/8″ seems too small. Is there a chance that it is 7/16″ or in millimeters? I have to clean up a contact or two as it’s been laying dormant for 25 years. -Thanks in advance.
