One of the biggest flaws of the 22500 is the inability to erase loops quickly, and this could be performed with a simple firmware update enabling the stop/tap button to erase loops upon pressing it for say 1.5 seconds min. – i have no need for an external footswitch otherwise (keeping tour gear easy to carry and light on weight).
This come sin a bit late, but i saw you’re thread while i am trying to get a grasp on how to hack the 22500 firmware Was there any real attempts to hacking the 2880 OS and what insights are there now?
Shame, that the loop erasing procedure is so complicated, that it gets useless to use in improvised live contexts. EHX customer service didn’t announce any changes to a simpler way yet.
I suppose it would need only a firmware update to be able to use the stop button pressed for 2 seconds to erase a bank.
Besides that, sound, operation and features are great.
I didn’t try, but i am playing clean electric, and the Pitchfork definately ruins attacks and tone to an extent, that wouldn’t qualify for me to use with an acoustic guitar. Plus you have to play ahead as the effect is lagging somewhere in the 40 ms range.
I use it rather as an effect unit, like one you can hear and use for it’s unique akwardness somehow. Pitching down a electric guitar with flatwound strings makes a nice akward uprite bass. Of course you could as well do stuff like looping a clean picking, then play the same pitched +7 on top. But this you could do more clearly, when just moving up 7 frets. My 2 Euro cents.
I like the pitchfork a lot, but obviously it isn’t good for anything. It’s kinda slow/laggiash and washes out attacks out in general. But the whole range of +/- 3 octaves makes it super suitable for weird stuff. Insect choirs and all.
Pitched down 1 oct. my 1967 Jolana Star VII sounds like an uprite bass with flatwound strings. Very cool sound.
At last i made an expression knob out of an alpha 5K log pot, some microphone cable and a TRS jack, so i can change pitch on the table without having to bend down. Awesome.
2K linear might be better, though, 5k log only work after roughly the half of a turn. Someone will try it out

Tip to wiper
The other two to the sides. Swap them to reverse knob direction.
See attached image as well.
[strong]I second this post.
Please upgrade firmware for easier loop deletion. [/strong] Suggestions:
– Holding down stop button for longer than 1 second erases both loops.
– Holding down individual loop button for longer than an undo/redo (like 2.5 seconds) erases respective single loop.
This other thread deals with the same problem by the way.
