I agree about having a stereo version of the .22
I would buy that
Have a mono/bridged switch 22 x 2 /44
a person could have a great low volume /home 2 x 112 stereo kit
inPlexicatedMemberQuote:I was thinking about getting a Muff’n.How agressive is it gain wise? Can it do more modern rock/metal tones as well or is it just vintage british sounding?
If it basically gets no more aggressive than an old jtm 45 then I will probably skip it.
Afterall if I want classic british tone my Laney half stack and stereo Ac30’s have that in spades.
By itself it won’t do modern rock /metal but if you have an overdrive/boost pedal to get the gain up then use an EQ pedal after to tailor it, you’ll be good to go!
Alternatives are:Blackstar pedals and the sleeper pedal of the century- the AMT FREAK GUITAR PEDAL – 2 tubes, high voltage, modern grind, sweepable mids ala Krank switchable OD/DIST.
inPlexicatedMemberQuote:Got my English Muff’n today! Yay! Man this thing is hot! I’ve already been playing around with different tube combos and like two 12ay7s the best. I think with two 12ax7s it gets too fizzy , and one 12ay7 cascading into a 12ax7 sounds better than the two 12ax7s but lacks the clarity of the 12ay7s.Its a bloody masterpiece!
…and here is my first attempt at making a vid, its not really a demo…just me wankin’ with the Muff’n but my mic stopped working so I had to use my laptop webcam and the quality is poor. Remember I’m only 16 and am no Gearmanndude so be nice :worried:
You be the Big-Toe Rocker!! Good tip on the tube types.Did you try two 12AT7’s?
