I never got any help with this problem. Other technicians in my area seem to think it could be because the magnum does not have a transformer.
Therefore I quit using the magnum power amp.
Good luck!ihate100beesMemberI use the output of the Palmer directly PDI-03 into a mic line and to the front system, no cabinet as the Palmer is a “load” box, and does not need a cabinet. I have not tried it this way (with a cabinet), but my Mesa and Marshall heads work fine with the Palmer PDI-03 with no cabinet. I was told by 1 of our better known local technicians, that the Magnum 44 won’t work with the Palmer PDI-03 because it does not have a real transformer in the Magnum 44, and something about the variable impedance on the Magnum may also be a factor. Could this be correct? This is a shame because it’s a great little amp and can truly compete against ANY major legendary amplifier, when used with simulators. I can’t believe that it will not work with the Palmer PDI-03. It’s their best load box that they make. Any suggestions to make it work are appreciated. I don’t want to “test” the one I have in fear of blowing this one up… again! Anyone have this similar experience with the Magnum 44 into their Palmer PDI-03? Thanks.
ihate100beesMemberOk, great! Thanks! Andy

Thanks for the reply. Spoke to salesman Gray at EH, who spoke to a tech there and he said it was safe for those pedals. So I’m good! Thanks again. -
