I really feel tempted to challenge at least some of the stuff on the list…

Active Humbuckers – well, on guitar, maybe you’re right, but on bass – no. Bass sounds awesome with actives.
Locking tremolos – what’s wrong with that? I have an Ibanez with a locking tremolo, and don’t use it for bomb-diving and shit, it just stays in tune for weeks. Hell, I play blues and rock on that Ibanez.
The RG2228 is great, and so are many other RG Ibanezes. They just don’t suit every style of music – but then, no guitar does.
Line 6 – the Vetta || blows lots of amps away.
Digitech make excellent beginner multi-effects (I still have my RP50 – it made me understand which effects I like, which I don’t like, what they sound like and stuff). And the Hardwire series are an excellent alternative to BOSS.
Flatwound strings are, as mentioned, indispensable for some styles, besides, I have a fretless guitar – and have to use flatwound strings.
SS amps – JC Chorus. Line 6 Veta II (it’s more than SS – it’s digital!). The Randall V2.
I like thin necks. I like thick necks. Basically, I like necks which feel right, and I guess I’m not alone.
Rackmount equipment is a necessity for some – harmonizers, MIDI switchers, studio-quality reverbs and stuff.

I guess, after all, it’s all just a matter of taste. Just don’t give it out as a fact :)

Perhaps even simple stuff, like the Micro QTron, since few pedal-makers produce low-priced high-quality envelope filters.
The NYC Muff and the TW Muff too, I guess.

Yeah, never thought unothordox placing can change the sound so dramatically…

Ha, thanks :) When you were talking about the muff sound, were you talking about the muff-into-qtron thing, or just the muff? Or were you talking about the metal muff?

I guess when you have lotsa pedals it’s nice to have some switching system, like CAE/Voodoo Labs/Rocktron/Axess, to help the tone and make switching easier.

I’ve got a year and a month till I can get a credit card and start buying stuff of eBay. And the opamp muffs are on top of my “to-buy” list currently.
Any soundclips of the opamp ones?

Both are good, just for different stuff.
There are great digital delays, reverbs, choruses and all kinds of other modulations…
And bitcrushing, which I’m a big fan of, can’t be done with analog.

As for music related games, I really love Audiosurf. It’s simple and fun.

Guitar Hero I’m not a fan of. I went to a party once thinking it was going to be really wild and crazy and fun, and I ended up sitting and watching my friend try to play Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies 20 times in a row. It was very annoying to say the least.

Audiosurf has the drawback of having to find songs that suit it well :) Marilyn Mansons “1996” got me a very fast, very steep and very red-coloured level :)

Damn. Linked to the “Band administration page” instead of just the band page.
    http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=915334 should work.

My friend was into it, but now he lives in Paris and we talk perhaps once a month. I doubt that he plays it anymore as he’s studying very hard now…
It’s cool that EHX got featured though.

I played Guitar Hero 2 a few times at my friends’, found it to be not that interesting. It’s fun, yes, but not something I would want to spend time and money one.
Now, if they released Drum Hero, that would be something to check out, since it would actually help in learning how to play drums.

Dunno, it just sounds very raw, more like jams rather than a real studio album, and that’s the beauty of it. And the second CD, the live one, has a screwed-up version of Stairway to Heaven. :)

I think it can actually vary with each model, since most pots aren’t very accurate (+- 5-10% error, if I remember correctly).
And the biggest problem for me with tremolos is that lots of different companies offer very cool tremolos with unique features, so I want lotsa tremolos :) Of course, the EHX one is on the list too, and might be the first one I’ll get – the price is more than just attractive :)

I recently bought a Led Zeppelin BBC Sessions CD – and I adore it. I never liked Led Zeppelins more intricate material – I enjoy their standard blues stuff a lot more, and this album is full of it. :)
Of course, I still think some of their later songs are genius – No Quarter, Nobody’s Fault but Mine (The acoustic version on the Page & Plant “No Quarter” tour DVD kicks some serious ass), When The Levee Breaks, but still. I’d choose Jimi over Jimmy anytime, haha :)
