I use Channel one for guitar and channel two for vocals. I do this with all of my loopers. (2 x Hazarai, DD-20, DL4, 2880) I just take an XLR>1/4″ adapter and slap it on the end of my Mic cable. Works great.

I’m guessing by your moniker that you play somewhat Ambient styled music? If that’s the case – you might not need the foot controller. When I’m doing my drone based stuff I hardly use it.

Anyhow – if you would (!?), do me a favor when you get it.. and test it out with the Slicer Midi tempo in sync’d to the 2880!? I’m really curious about this, especially with more tonal (droney) guitar stuff.

The foot switch is NOT necessary at all if you have table top. UNLESS you need to begin recording, while you are playing – and need your hands free. Then the foot switch becomes very handy.

I play with a pedal board that sometimes sits table top as well (sometimes I just sit on the floor with it). When I have it as a table top I actually use the foot controller down on the floor. I got mine used w/ the foot controller for $325 total. So had I not had the experience of using it, I would have likely never gotten it. BUT that said – it really does come in handy for triggering the record functions, and switching tracks, record on/off while you play.

There are many limitations to the 2880 you might now expect. I would read pros and cons in various threads. I personally love mine! Best sound quality multi-looper your gonna find (of it’s size and function).

I kind of just want EH to make a Micro HOG- 4-5 sliders with a few different voices, and then all the expression modes. I think for the “freezer” having octave down would be a must for me.

This thing also needs a FREEZE function :)

Anyone know if you can bypass the envelope? So that it’s essentially just to stationary filters?

    They could call it FEELINGS.

You know, so you could express them all.

somehow I doubt we’d get square wave modulated delay

but that would be awesome and would totally make me have to get a memory boy

The final design also has those symbols (for the wave types), and I already recognized them on that Screaming Bird video…

OOf. I’m excited as hell about this box….

(ok I give up the EHX mystery promotion machine is working on me…)

Memory Boy. Delay, Mod, Blend, Feedback. Switch one Waveform? Switch two chorus/vibrato.

    EHX Mig 50, 60, and 100

    come up

!!! I miss my Mig 50 so much! Also the idea of a tube driven pedal is brilliant, and I bet you anything – they’re already on it. In a Zipper/Muff’n casing! My god!

Also if at all possible a stereo power amp (in a pedal) would be rad for all of the Keyboard players, noise makers, etc… out there!

Trails On/Off, Overload On/Off (altho I’m guessing this is the feature the Boy will be missing – the drive part), Chorus/Vibrato + On/Off?
