: )
I can’t believe you guys made it happen! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
I’m curious if this would have happened without the input from forum community. ( https://www.ehx.com/forums/viewthread/1063/ , https://www.ehx.com/forums/viewthread/999/#10252 )
ghostMemberYeah, I just removed the knobs, took the board out (it’s kind of a pain – VERY tight in there), hit it with some sand paper and steel wool. Nothing fancy. Just didn’t want every kid on the block jumping on my SMM kick.
Plus it trips people out when I play solo with just one box and have vocal and guitar loops going, reverb on some things, stuttering delays on others, long washed out delays, reverses, etc…
I actually took the dead sticker off there, as I’m not much of a fan. MORE just a fan of the Steal Your Face logo than anything else.
The tricky part is, when I don’t use the pedal for awhile.. remembering what does what. But I’ve got it pretty much memorized. I often forget the low/hi pass filter is there tho.
Also I have now replaced the white knobs on both with black knobs, as it was a dead give away for folks who know.
ghostMemberAssignable (feedback finally!) expression, tap tempo, effects loop. I’m SOLD. So is my MemBoy.
They really should have released this before the Boy and Toy, or at least put word out that it was coming. If they pull this move too much I’m going to eventually get fed up (ala Apple Computers).
ghostMemberAdds movement to stagnant sounds….
Variation to riffs….
Sweep to things….
Phasing to un-phased events….
and because it’s trippy…..
ghostMemberI know it’s not on the list, but the Metal Muff XO (not Nano) IS the “meanest” Muff. That thing is basically high end nasal black metal in a box….
ghostMemberCord is attached. Expression is a stereo tip 1/4″. The preset cable can use any length/brand 1/4″ cable.
Presets save evrything, not sure about exp pedal position tho…
Micro vs Hog, some sounds overlap sure, but not really…. very little….
Midi input in the expression sweep only I believe?
The foot controller is the only way to save presets.
ghostMemberQuote:I’d suggest:Funkadelic, “Maggot Brain”
Sly & Family Stone, “There’s a Riot Going on”
Maggot Brain is one of my favorite tunes to play in bars with a digital jukebox! Usually gets shut off by the bar tender at some point…
T A Riot Going On is some of the best/most F**’d production you’ll ever hear in funk! Druggy Attic Funk!
I’d also recommend Curtis/Curtis absolutely essential funk/soul. Oh jesus… And Hot Buttered Soul! Best opening tune ever! Although you need to get that one on LP, as the CD master destroys the fuzz and string dynamics. (actually a good example of a really bad mastering job!)
ghostMemberFlying Saucer Attack, Tazartes, Arthur Russell, Boris (*), Velvet Underground, Boredoms (*) – rough list…
* = some work I can’t stand, but overall I’m in love with their work.
Need to add Byrds, Queen,Beach Boys and Black Sabbath – forgot about my “classics” there… as I can’t really listen to any of these guys (aside from the Byrds) much anymore… (burrrrnt out…)

Sonic Crayon Hollow Earth
Goatkeeper
SMMw/H (I consider it still a secret, as there’s just SO MUCH it can do – in fact mine is such a secret I disguised it; see avatar on left)There’s a LOT of cheap analog delays out there by digi/dod that are cool – but now that the Mem Boy/Toy and CC are about they don’t make as much sense.
ModFX has a couple cool things.
The Teaspoon pedal is cool, but not realistic until he gets them into wider production.
ghostMemberI agreee, and was shocked it was not an option via toggle….
You can however achieve this effect setting the feedback higher and using the expression to take the delay to a shorter time – causing it to feedback; as it’s a smaller “chamber” it’s working with, then go back out to a longer delay…

ghostMemberI’ve owned all three. If I could go back I’d stick with the micro Pog honestly…. And I’ a very hands-on-the-pedal sort of guy…
