Hey there
It might be possible to use your midi controller and PC 121 to simulate holding down EXP button for 2 seconds: toggle on, wait two seconds, toggle off. I haven’t tried this yet. If it does work it will save whatever setup you currently have into the last used preset.GfromHarpOnMemberThe manual seems to spell out the PC & CC commands quite clearly. I really like how you can either simulate the buttons on the face plate & foot controller AS WELL AS arbitrary values to preset number, expression pedal mode, etc. How you go about using them is of course your call.
For myself I use the Gordius Little Giant Module 2 (LGM2) I use variables which are set or adjusted when I press various programmed pedals I’ve set up. For instance quick press decrement or increment, long press -10 or +10, then a series of pedals that set it to 0, 30, 60, 90 120, then use the others to hunt around in there. Obviously when I have very specific needs, the correct PC number will just be arbitrarily set, along with the other gear I’m using.
So for the most part I don’t have to reprogram anything, I just need to adjust the variable to what I want and how I can do that is varied and very versatile. The Gordius Little Giant MIDI controllers aren’t cheap, but they’re well worth it if you have complex MIDI effect units with a lot of parameters.
I’ll be depending on the HOG2 to store the actual presets, at least until functional software comes out. But using LGM2 I will experiment with parameters in real time using expression pedals which can be reassigned to different parameters with the push of a button and use the LGM2 display to find out what the final value for each parameter is so I can actually record them, then save it to any HOG2 preset of my choice, and note that down too, building up a library as I go.
Cheers,
G.GfromHarpOnMemberYes, in fact you have access to 120 presets with MIDI. Just bear in mind, you will have no way of seeing which preset you are using without the foot pedal, as there is no display for it. I use MIDI extensively to control my gear, and will be making a lot of use of the presets, but I got the foot pedal anyway. The display matches the preset you select by MIDI PC command. I’ve yet to try presets over 99 though. I’ll be using a variable in the LGM2 and display it every time I change presets.
I’ve suggested to EHX about providing a real time parameter editor and preset manager for PC & Mac. Real time adjustment of parameters using on screen controls, then saving it simultaneously to the appropriate preset on HOG2 AND to preset file with a descriptive comment. Plus a decent preset manager that: detects all the changed presets and sends all the parameters and saves every changed preset to the HOG2. The program would have to be absolute master and the HOG2 slave as there’s no MIDI send on HOG2. Be great if the program comes with the HOG2 factory presets too.
GfromHarpOnMemberHi there
I own two POG2’s which I’ve had for some time and have just got a HOG2 today.
The detune on the POG2 is a chorus/flanger modulation effect. Its at a set speed/rate, the slider for it is simply mix level. Its worth spending some time online looking up audio and video demos of these kind of effects so you
have a better idea what to look for. It pays to learn what the popular brands are, and whats
available in your price range. Look for honest reviews, the more reviews, the better picture you get. After that, if you can, I’d suggest taking your POG2, its power supply, multi-power supply board plus a bunch of patch leads to a good music store that stock a decent range of pedals.
See if they’ll let you test some of their chorus and/or flanger pedals through one of their amps or
PA.Set the POG2 up for full dry sound no octaves and dry FX amber. Connect up your instrument, POG2 to each
or all of the pedals and through an amp set up for a clean sound, or PA, and do an A/B comparison ie bypass all except POG2, play, bypass POG2 engage the pedal of interest, play while fiddling with its knobs, bypass pedal, re-engage POG2 for comparison etc
It’ll take some fiddling but you should be able to find something that can give you a very similar
sound. BTW – there are a few miniature pedals available, very slim and run on lithium rechargeable
batteries. If one of those sounds good to you, it’ll give you a little bit more room on your pedal
board after shoe-horning in the HOG2.Good luck!

Yeah, I’m looking through the EHX archives to see if anyone else has two POG2s chained together.
I’ve found with both engaged they’re creating unwanted noise which I didn’t see coming.
Cheers,
— G.GfromHarpOnMemberThere’s another thread about this
https://www.ehx.com/forums/viewthread/3808/GfromHarpOnMemberPOG2 is better than POG & Micro POG in some ways, but the original POG’s input slider enables you to drive it harder.
There is another thread on this topic, and the recommendation if you want to get the same attack through your POG2 as the POG is to use an overdrive pedal before it.July 22, 2011 at 3:44 pm in reply to: POG2: Exactly what is the “Q” and also anyone know of a recall sheet? #106100GfromHarpOnMemberQuote:Also does anyone know of any nice recall sheets that anyone has made for the POG2?
Thanks!This is what I use.
GfromHarpOnMemberThis is normal.
LP is a Low Pass filter, the lower you set it the lower the frequencies that pass to the output.
To Bypass LP you need to set it all the way up.
Attack and Detune need to be all the way down to Bypass them.GfromHarpOnMemberCurrent favourites

GfromHarpOnMemberTry:
B3 organ, put all sliders at 3/4, LP one notch down from maximum and detune to taste.
12 string guitar, Dry and +1 octave both one notch down from maximum.July 22, 2011 at 2:12 pm in reply to: POG2 DRY FX button – doesn’t seem to be working – return it? #106404GfromHarpOnMemberQuote:Quote:when the DRY FX are off, the attack seems to be only half affecting the output.
not quite kicking in as it should when I hit the first colour in the sequence.the LP filter is always on.
the detune is similar to attack.
It’s always operating, but I think it works moreso/properly when I hit that 3rd setting on the DRY FX button.doh!
I’m so stupid.
Only the input signal bypasses the effects.
All of the sub octaves pass through the filtering regardless.
Which is why it seems to “kick in” stronger, when the original signal also passes through the filtering. Now I’m not so sure I like the octaves being filtered out.
I might have been better off getting another Micro POG instead of this pedal.
Oh shoot! I really wanted a 2nd sub octave that was pure and filter free…A belated follow up for other readers. Most of this is covered in the manual.
* LP filter needs to be set all the way up to turn it off.
* Attack and Detune need to be all the way down to turn them off.LED State MODE
Off – DRY bypasses all effects
RED – DRY goes through Attack control, bypasses LP Filter and Detune
GREEN – DRY goes through Attack and LP Filter, bypasses Detune
AMBER – DRY goes through all three effects: Attack, LP Filter and DetuneWhere the POG has separate detune sliders for +1 & +2, the POG2 has a single Detune slider for both +ve octaves only, it doesn’t affect the -ve octaves. This is the only feature the POG offers that the POG2 doesn’t.
—I own both the Micro POG and POG2. The Micro POG is a neat little pedal, although personally I find it has a slightly plaintive quality to it’s octaves which I don’t like. Also I notice it’s slight latency whereas I don’t with the POG2. Although with two POG2s in a row both using octave effects the latency is noticeable.
In my view the POG2 is superior to the original in almost every aspect: Smaller foot print; 9vDC; -2 octave; Attack effect; Separate control over “Q” & LP Filter … and Attack that applies to all octaves, and which apply to Dry; 8 presets which can be selected by a foot switch. I don’t mind that I don’t have individual control over octave up dry/detune levels, it seems a very small price for the trade off.
What’s more it’s very easy to install a relay switch control to the preset switch, so a remote MIDI controlled relay switch can select POG2 presets. The POG2 itself is seated off the floor board up next to other MIDI controlled effects. Instead of having to hit the POG2 bypass, one preset is clean and dry effectively serving the same purpose.
To do this requires installing a 4mm stereo jack into the side of the enclosure out of the way of the other circuitry, wire tip and ring to the two contacts of the preset switch. Do not wire the jack’s shield/ground to anything, if you’re using a dual core shielded cable to the relay, then the jack’s shield can be wired to this, but make sure the shield never contacts either of the relay connections or the jack’s tip/ring.
When you connect then disconnect the installed jack’s tip and ring it’s the same as stepping on the preset switch. Which is what the FCB1010 relays do. FCB1010 relays have mono 1/4″ jacks, do NOT wire the POG2’s new jack’s shield to either of the FCB1010’s relay connections.GfromHarpOnMemberQuote:ive got:noise supressor

Stereo memory man with hazaraiwas thinking of maybe getting ahum debugger. also had my eye on a frequency analyzer but notice that ehx are bringing out a new ring mod pedal so ill probably go for that. was thinking i may get a signal pad as well. oh, and a trem pedal (probably the stereo pulsar). theres just too many tasty pedals to desire!!!!
Hey there
How are you finding the PitchFactor?
A few youtubes were pretty critical about it’s ability to harmonize, and the way they used it sounded pretty shakey. Others made some really nice clips using it. I’m really interested, but it’s a lot of money for something that might not live up to it’s specs on paper.
So I’m listening out for more opinions.
Thanks
