The Nano Clone Chorus and the 2001 NYC Reissue of the Big Muff
have reversed polarity.
My Germanium OD deserves hum in combination with one or two
pedals and than needs extra power supply.gematherMemberI have a little pedal collection.
I can understand you very well.
To create psychedelic high gain sounds i use effect pedals
with treble boosting side effect into any Big Muff Pi i have.
Therefore i own the Muff Overdrive too. It is a great pedal.
Also the Double Muff and a clone from England with different
transistors.Today i think about to buy a Satisfaction Fuzz, because
i heard it has treble boosting side effects too.
I like to combine it the same way.gematherMemberI heard the Satisfaction is a Jordan Bosstone clone without his diode clipping section.
I love the treble boosting side effect of my Bosstone clone, but his special
distortion not so much.
I think the Satisfaction is easyer to dial with and hope to buy a unit some day.October 25, 2015 at 10:05 pm in reply to: Different versions of Double Muff circuit – what is the difference? #120961gematherMemberEvery Big Muff Pi is a pleasure. Mike Matthews guarantee for that.
gematherMemberIt’s the same thing at my unit. In some positions, the signal is almost dead.
It is tricky to find the exact point, where the signal is breaking up.Beware,
it makes a difference in wich position of the signal path
the unit is set. Also if you use high gain pickup’s.
The NKT275 transistors differ from unit to unit.I myself use the Germanium OD in front of my Bass Big Muff,
to give it more grit…August 16, 2015 at 4:30 pm in reply to: Deluxe Big Muff pi noise gate stutters or alternates at every position #120845gematherMemberRemove the solder flux with a brush and alkohol from the pots.
gematherMemberThe modulation effects first, the Screamer before the Octavix ???
gematherMemberYou can boost the overall signal with the volume knob and
limit it with the level of the EQ and you have a dry mix.
You can limit the overall signal with the volume knob and
boost it with the level of the EQ and you have a wet mix.
No other pedal on the market gives you that. You can easily change the compressor settings by tweaking
the trim pots inside. The one in the middle is the amount
of compression and the one at the bottom is the volume.
It took me a minute and there is no hiss anymore!!!
My unit has not too much attack. It is well balanced.gematherMemberI learned a lot more by modifying other Big Muff units in the last month.
Please excuse me,
1k in R24 is wrong. The tonepot did not react anymore.
It’s almost on full bass.22k in R24 is a better conclusion if you want to use the tonepot in the boost mode.
gematherMemberThe early NYC Reissue has reversed polarity at the adaptor.
So you can not daisychain it.gematherMemberExcuse me, i was told later the Octavix uses 9v power supply.
gematherMembergematherMemberShould be Ok – has this huge magnet similar to the Celestion.

and internal trimmer for use as expression. -
