It sounds like you might be loading a preset while the 8 Step is running. If the 8 Step receives a preset update while running a sequence it loads the new preset at the moment it comes to the end of the current sequence.

A preset will load immediately if the 8 Step is not running at the moment you send the PC message.

You can also load a preset immediately if you send the RESET message after the preset PC message. RESET can be sent through either PC or CC. It’s PC number is 101 while CC number is 35, CC value = 127.

Great. I Will check it out.
Beatstep pro has a cv gate out jack, i never used it since i work with midi connections.
I dont know if i can send midi and cv gate at the same time, i have to check.
Does a cv gate outputs a clock?
Sorry, i am new to this, i always worked only with midi clocks.
    Thanks for reply.

Gate Out does not necessarily mean Clock Out so we’re unsure if the BeatStep is able to output a Clock signal on the Gate output.

Gate Out is usually an on/off signal, like a logic signal. Clock Out is a logic signal as well.

CV Out is a continuous analog signal, not a logic signal.

I think that part of the manual was taken from the 45000 and not properly updated for the 95000. Thanks for spotting it.

This sounds like a misprint in the manual, we will check it out. The Mixdown fader does not adjust the level of what was previously on the Mixdown track as it is recorded back onto the Mixdown track.

The only way to adjust the volume of previous Mixdown audio, at the time you record back onto the Mixdown track, is by doing it the way you have figured out: lowering the DUB setting.

We don’t know if the Beatstep sends out a clock signal or not. Maybe the GATE OUT jack can do it? If it can then the Super Pulsar will be able to sync to the clock signal from the Beatstep.

Connect the clock signal to the Super Pulsar’s TAP/CLK IN jack and make sure to set the Super Pulsar to CLK IN mode, which is explained in the manual.

in reply to: New 22500 firmware? #123603

I see now, thanks for the video. We’ve been working a on a fix for this bug all week. We don’t have it solved yet.

When you power up the 22500 now, what number does it display?

Hi there. I bought my looper 22500 this week and played for a while with it. Unfortunately, it froze a couple of times (10 times) during the last two days and the only alternative left was to remove the power. If I’m not wrong, every time it froze was when erasing the last overdub by holding the FSW for 1.5 sec. And of course, it doesn’t freeze every time I erase the last overdub.
When I turn it on, the screen says 28. So I guess it already has the latest firmware.
I’d like to know what this is about, if it is because of a firmware issue or because the pedal came defective. In the case that it is the firmware itself… are you planning to launch a new firmware in the upcoming months to repair bugs like these? And most important, how can I figure it out my pedal is not defective?
    Cheers
    Nahuel

Yes, you need a firmware update. Please email info@ehx.com and ask for the 22500’s latest firmware.

Did somebody ever figure this out? I have a similar problem.

Are you having the problem seen in the first video (constant mic noise) or second video (INST CTRL)? It is normal for INSTRUMENT CTRL to work even if no instrument is plugged into the V256.

in reply to: EH45000 Looper pedal #123541

Yes, you are right. You do not need to put the factory drums on the second card, you can just use the second card for your own loops.

in reply to: EH45000 Looper pedal #123537

All of the loop audio is stored on the SD Cards. No audio is stored within the unit, including the drums that were supplied with the unit. If you have a second card you will need to put the drums onto the second card. Below is a link to download the factory drums. Within the downloaded zip file there will be instructions on how to put the drum loops onto your SD card.

    Having the same problem.

Edit: I tried the factory reset as mentioned above and encountered a new problem.

    Settings:

-I have the xRATE button off (unlit). Rate knob is all the way left. If I tap in a tempo and move the rate knob to the right it immediately slows it down. It needs to be set all the way to right to get my original tap tempo.
-Edit #3 – After more testing, turning the rate knob all the way to the right doesn’t bring back your original tempo. It’s buggy in the same way as the dimly lit position.

-With the xRate button dimly lit. Rate knob all the way left. If I tap a tempo in this mode and turn the rate knob it again changes the tempo to the point where you can’t find you’re original tempo. Finding your original tempo on the rate knob will depend on the speed of the tempo you tapped in. Hard to explain in words, hope that made sense.

-With the xRATE button brightly lit everything is working as normal. Rate knob set all the way left. If I turn the rate knob all the way right and then back all the way left I have my original tempo.

    Edit #2 Another problem.

-I’m using two amps in stereo. Wave knob set to square (The pattern that alternates 4 lights on/4 lights off), Shape knob at 12 o clock. If I put the pulsar at the end of my guitar chain the RT. Phase knob stops working at 180 degrees, I can hear the rate knob working when I turn it. Just not alternating between speakers like it should. Signal plays like it’s in bypass mode. Works normally at 0 and 360.

-I’m using a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power plus 2 isolated power supply. 9v, max current 250mA. I’ve also tried using the Power supply provided by EHX, same problems.

While writing this it stopped working again like what was described in the original post on page 1. So I assume the factory reset doesn’t solve the problem. Anyone have an extra Xanax?

Help… I sent an email, but no response. I’ll send another one with this new problem.

I hope I’m able to answer all the questions you’ve raised in your post. Let me know if I miss anything.

    – TAP TEMPO & RATE Knob: If you tap in a tempo to set the tremolo rate, and then move the RATE knob, the RATE knob’s setting supersedes your tap tempo and your tap tempo is erased. So in all those circumstances where you tapped in a tempo and then moved the RATE knob, as soon as you moved RATE your tapped tempo was gone. It’s not a bug but the way the unit works.

    – TWO AMPS & RT. PHASE Knob: Just curious is your set up Stereo IN or Mono IN? This sounds like a Stereo IN to Stereo OUT setup. What’s going on is when RT. PHASE is set to the 180 position an equal amount of Left In is switched between the Left and Right Out jacks. Vice versa is true for the right input. What ends up happening, particularly when using the square wave, is that both inputs switch back and forth between the two outputs, if you have nearly the same signal at both of the Super Pulsar’s input jacks then it will sound like the Super Pulsar is not doing any thing because it is switching the same input signal back and forth to the left/right outputs.

    – The freeze problem has been a tough one to solve. It appears we received some percentage of bad processors that reset on their own if the unit starts out cold and then heats up over time while it is powered. Try again with info@ehx.com and we can look into setting up a repair.

Hello Flick THANCK YOU very much for your answer. I will try to be as clear as possible.
1° first of all all my rythm loops are located in file 13 (see pictures) : so I have no rythm loop 13 on the screen of my 22500. Is that all right ?
2° As written yesterday I see only 18 loops on the 22500’s screen but I have created 21 (see picture).
On picture 2 you can see the loop file #19 : I send it in another message

For some reason the screenshot image of your folders is a little small so I’m not sure if I’m seeing it correctly. It looks like you have all your rhythm files in the Loop13 folder, this is not correct. Each rhythm loop must be in its own Loop folder that is in the root directory of the SD Card. The folders cannot be contained within other folders.

Good morning, I apologize for my meddling. I’m interested in replacing my BeatBuddy + Jamman Solo XT to buy this ELX 22500, only I can not find info or demos concerning the rhythm part of the loop. I am very interested because instead of spending a lot of money for a looper midi and also control the BeatBuddy, I prefer to have only one pedal that does everything, on which to import my favorite rhythm loops. Can you recommend some video / audio demos that let me hear the quality of the built-in drum sounds? Obviously, then my rhythmic loops will be imported from the computer so they will have the high quality I want, but I would also like to hear those inside as they are. Thanks and have a nice day everyone. Rei (Rome-IT)

I don’t know if there are any demos around showing off the 22500’s built-in drum loops but you can download the loops from this link and listen to them to decide if you like them:
