Maybe you should post a new thread. This one is kinda old and sometimes this forum takes some time.
firesgt911MemberThe Pumpkins tone that people tend to chase is Gish and Siamese Dream. The op amp BM is the one he used, thus the “mojo status.”
Mellon Collie was good, but not considered as great as the earlier stuff by most Pumpkins fans.
firesgt911MemberLooks like the prices have settle down a little bit on the black Russian pedals. I followed like 10 of them on ebay and the BM’s are averaging like $65, Small Stones $70 and Bassballs $45. There for a little while they were all over $100!
firesgt911MemberI have a Devi Ever Vintage Fuzz Master and I gotta say that it isn’t for the faint of heart! Not really the easiest pedals to use, but once you get into the groove with them, they really sing!
firesgt911MemberGrolsch washers work perfect for me. Plus you get to drink some beer to get them!
firesgt911MemberIt was the pickups. Problem solved!
firesgt911MemberDon’t pay any attention to the sloppy playing, and sorry my video only does 60 second vids so it isn’t very detailed. Just a down and dirty sound sample.
firesgt911MemberIf it were me, I would go wah-dirt-phaser/tremelo-reverb. I love a phaser after dirt more than before, but I run 2 so that I can have it both ways. Either way, try as many possible combination as you can to see what you like. Personally, I don’t use the effects loop. I prefer running everything in line, but most people say “your doing it wrong,” until they hear me play then they say “WOW!!! You really suck!!!” HAHAHA! Play around with it until you get sounds that sound good to you.
Have fun!
firesgt911MemberKinda the same with the Russian Muffs (black). 6 months ago they were $50 new and all over the place. Now that they are discontinued, they sell for well over $100 used! Plus, most people (that I talked to)said they didn’t like them!
firesgt911MemberI won’t either! I agree with you. I had to stop even looking lately. I gotta stay content with what I have for now. Hopefully the market will slow down again.
firesgt911MemberWe, the consumer, are to blame for this. If people will pay it, then good for this guy.
firesgt911MemberThanks guys!
friedjesseradio,
I’ve actually had more, but sold about 10 pedals over the past month or so. I am trying to shrink some of the collection down a little, while at the same time buying new stuff.
firesgt911MemberHAHAHA! I’m a little excited. And, yes this thing weighs in at 10 lbs, but will scream for days when you play a note. It’s my first Les Paul, and I’m sad that it took this long.
firesgt911MemberOne more!
firesgt911MemberSweet! I just toured the factory a few weeks ago. It was really cool to see how and where they go together.
