You guys and your insane gain desires, as if the Big Muff Pi needs more gain. C’mon, no matter how much Viagra you pump yourself with, your size still has a limit :poke:
I love to use the flerb in combination with stereo delay and an eBow. I have a soundclip, but unfortunately I can’t access Soundclick from within the firewall at work right now :worried:
It creates this very 60s SciFi B-movie theremin-like effect, which is great for psychedlia, experimental, ambient, electronica, etc.
EHman would know for sure, but I think they stopped when the company dissolved in ’83, then returned to transistors for the Reissue when the company revived in the 90s.
I have a Deluxe Big Muff Pi (blend switch version) from about 1980 or so, which I believe is also an Op-Amp Muff. I wonder if it’s the same circuit, apart from the compressor of course.
BIG MUFF NYC RI
Small Clone
Double Muff
LPB-1
Russian Muff (Black unit – still looking for a ‘vintage’ GREEN Russian)
Stereo Pulsar
Ger OD
Knock Out
Bass Big Muff – use it on guitar only !
Next, Hot Tubes, DMM, and the new smaller Graphic Fuzz
You’ve certainly earned your place in the deFuzz family, especially after you get that Graphic Fuzz. Definitely grab the Hot Tubes so you can get the spectrum – silicon, germanium, and tube :rawk:
I was listening to Oracular Spectacular over headphones while walking to work today, and it really has that 1970-1972 era Bowie meets Syd Barrett sound to it. I love Dave Fridmann’s production on it. I agree that they don’t yet have their live act honed to sound as sweet as the studio recordings.
my birthday was nice
friends and family came over
hot turkey sandwiches from the thanksgiving leftovers from the day before
we watched the Pens game
Pens lost (but they won on Saturday! )
I got a 30 dollar gift certificate to my favorite guitar store
a string swing
2 packs of d’addarios
200 dollars (grandparents and parents)
a t-shirt with a bunch of audio tapes on it
a nice flannel shirt
and apparently I’m getting 2 pairs of shoes in the mail
Zang mang, sounds like you got seriously spoiled on your B-day. What’s a string swing?
This guy is good…. The vintage Clone Theory, what a great box. The 70’s and 80’s music scene was dominated by EHX stuff for sure. It’s not all Muff, there are plenty of great products that came out of the EHX Kitchen.
Thanks FUZZ!
Yes, EHX is all over the New Wave and Indie scenes in the 80s. I wish I could find more references/interviews/pics to prove it. It’s not easy digging this stuff up.
Do you know which George Clinton tracks are famous for using EHX envelope filters?
