http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVQPtksl-Mg on the live number called Wagram Jam. The sounds of the electravibe (there is no electric guitar being played) are vintage EHX, both pedals and amp!

Wow, incredible sounds from a vibe :thumb: I’ve always loved the sound of vibes, but I’ve never heard them sound like that before. What EHX pedals are you using in that performance?

I’m a member of the fan club, I think. I really don’t understand the difference, to be honest.

I don’t know if anyone has said this yet, but how about reissuing the crash pad?

I can’t really see who would buy it….when you can get things like this.

    apart from F&ehx4ever;, of course.

Haha, but that Yamaha is digital. Those old EHX drums are completely analog ( – the instant replay, but even that is 8-bit lofi) .

I don’t about the trannys, but I wish you great luck on restoring those old units back to their former glory. What are all of those extra knobs for? :freak:

Assignable Pitch Effector (APE) – This digital box will allow you to assign any 2 effects loops to specific pitches in your performance, just in case you want your Gs and Cs to have tremelo, and your Es and Bs to have delay, or vice versa. Put some serious monkey-business in your music.

Cut Up Technique (CUT) – This digital delay box would make William Burroughs write a sequel to Naked Lunch. It will sample a pre-determined length of your performance (set by a knob or an optional expression pedal), then splice up the performance (in increments preset by a fragment-size knob) and play it back for you in a random sequence, sometimes in reverse. Indeed, chaos reigns whenever it rains…

BTW – have I mentioned that I would love a tube driven tape delay/flanger that uses cassette tapes :poke: Possible name: The MemoryPlex ?, The Echo Hoax ?

I have the silver one and the black one both. No noise issues with mine at all. They are not detented at 0. I didn’t pay $150 for mine, or even half that price; but that isn’t to say they aren’t worth it. However, with the way the economy is right now, you could probably get one for cheaper if you are patient and vigilant on eBay.

Overall, I’d say that my Graphic EQs are among my top 5 most essential pedals to my rig. I wouldn’t gig without at least one of them.

I’ve seen at least 2 or 3 sell on eBay in the last year. If I remember, it seems they sold for less than $200. I wouldn’t say that they were in high demand, like vintage Muffs or Electric Mistresses; but they are pretty scarce.

One of these days I will go to Musikmesse, drink great beer, and buy cool toys. Anyone with me?

It blows my mind how Hendrix, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, or Bob Marley ever made it through an entire show without having True Bypass, Buffers, or Switching Systems. They must have been playing air guitar all those years.

I just received a Space Drum a few weeks ago. I didn’t have a lot of time to play with it, but it sounds nice. It doesn’t work in the “short” setting, but that’s probably easy to fix.

Nice :thumb: I bet it sounds great with a delay.

There was only 1 on eBay last year ($152.5)

Thanks, DiscoFreq. That’s a good reference point if I’m ever lucky enough to see one again. I see the Clap Track quite often, and I would love to pick up one of those as well. Hell, I might as well pick up a Space Drum and a Panic Button too and have the complete set.

You may need to get a Rolling Thunder to produce a really good kick drum effect.

I was afraid you were going to say that :(

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Rolling Thunder on eBay.

Nice, sounds a bit like what I’m doing sometimes (drum-synths + effects) :D

An octaver is nice to make short noises, but it’s too slow to give a realistic drum sound.

    Good point.

I’ll probably use the boxes as triggers with a real kit, so I can get that electro-organic hybrid thing going – so the Sonic Boomer would just augment a real kick drum, or a floor tom for a kind of Velvet Underground/Maureen Tucker style kit.

My dream is to have my wife play the drums and sing harmony with me while I play guitar, and have an electro-rock duo :D

    13th Floor Elevators Live
Rolling Stones Get Yer Ya Yas Out
    Iggy Pop TV Eye Live
    Wire On The Box
    Nirvana Unplugged
    Ride Live Light

If we included BBC or John Peel sessions, I would have a lot more to add.
