I played acoustic guitar most of my life, and only used electric for clean rhythm parts. I didn’t really start getting into effects until about 4 years ago. Up to that point, all I had was a DOD FX80b comp/sustain, a BOSS HM-2 Distortion, a BOSS RV-3 Delay/Reverb, and a BOSS CE-3 Chorus; and I used those only for recording.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorPossibly my favorite pedal. Enhances tone without coloring it too much, or killing the attack.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorIs it just me, or is anyone else slightly disturbed by the switch and knobs? :freak:
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:that sucks, oh well. Might you be able to tell me what the threshold knob does?http://www.harmony-central.com/Effects/Articles/Compression/
I love my Dlx BMP. I don’t use it nearly enough, but once I get more studio space, I plan to break it out more often.

I don’t think he’s going to get that much for it. But if he does, I’ll know I’m sitting on gold
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:I’m planning on buying a microsynth or a pog and im trying to see which one would be more useful for me, so can someone tell me if i can use the octave switch thing to make the guitar sound like a bass? The POG will be the best for that purpose. The Sub Octave on the Micro Synthesizer makes some really fat monophonic synth tones, but it’s not going to sound much like a bass guitar.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:it kills me that I can’t run any of my stereo pedals into the Holiest grail.I agree. It would have been awesome to send the Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai into the Holiest Grail

EHX Micro Synthesizer SettingsGranted, the settings in these threads are for the old box, but it should get you in the ball park.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorI love the Flanger Hoax. One of my top 5 favorite effects ever.
Nice setting you have dialed in there – watery asymmetrical pitch-bending. I was playing around with it last night and found some great rotary/vibe like settings. It’s really the most versatile modulation pedal I’ve ever used.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:So Im asking, can POG do everything that Micro POG and Octave Multiplexer can?Not at all. Very different sounding octave pedals. The Octave Multiplexer is a monophonic and analog for starters. It has a very fat synth-like quality about it, and the reissue version incorporates a fuzz tone switch that gives it a really unique texture.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorOn several occasions, I’ve purchased duplicate EHX pedals just so I could have the pine box, and then sold one of the units. I’m such a geek.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:nice write up man
listening to the clips nowThanks, Julian. Do you have the Holy Stain yet?

Very innovative, and unique in the world of compact stompboxes. Before I became obsessed with EHX, I had an all BOSS board. The first 5 of these I still own:
TU-2 Tuner
LS-2 Line Selector
PS-3 Digital Delay/ Pitch Shifter
PN-2 Tremelo/ Pan
GE-7 Graphic Equalizer
CS-3 Comp/Sust
CE-3 Stereo Chorus
AW-2 Auto Wah
OC-3 Super Octave
HM-2 Heavy Metal
RV-3 Digital Delay/ ReverbI still think the RV-3 is a cool pedal, even though I sold it off.
My complaint with BOSS is that they tend to play it too safe and middle of the road – with the exception of the PS-3, PN-2, and the LS-2. What I love about EHX is that they often take things over-the-top into experimental territory. Like the Flanger Hoax, the HOG, the Tube Zipper, the Holiest Grail, the Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai – these boxes push the envelope.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorYeah, the HG+ seems like a definite improvement, as much as I love the old steel boxes. Anyways, I’m glad that they are phasing out the old enclosures. It just increases the resale value of my collection everytime they do that
Fender&EHX4everModeratorAren’t the basic features on the Holy Grail Plus identical to the original? Has anyone done a comparison?
