Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:That setting is pretty brilliant, just been playing Bill Withers all day at practice.

Your thread inspired me to pull my Zipper out of the box yesterday and play around with it again after being stored for a few months. I played it in front of my Roland Space Echo RE-101. What an amazing combo. I could’ve jammed around on it all day
Fender&EHX4everModeratorFrom 1983 – 1999, I played guitar entirely without effects. Then I bought a BOSS CE-3, HM-2, and an RV-3, and I used those exclusively until about 2005. I’ve only begun to collect pedals in the last 4 years.
During all those years that I didn’t use any effects, I concentrated entirely on song-writing. Now that I have tons of effects, I haven’t necessarily lost my ability to write songs; but I find myself not writing as much because I spend more time now learning to play guitar, and playing around with effects and textures. My feeling is that eventually, when my aptitude for writing guitar lines and using effects is completely second-nature, I’ll come around to being more prolific with song-writing; but this time I’ll have the added extra bonus of having more mastery over guitar and effects to enhance the songs with.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:I’m hearing the Tube Zipper in there as well Awesome! Somebody needs to record an album with those pedals, Puretube. They need to be heard.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:The Pure-Tube-Technology “TUBE-PHASER” got 6 stages…I’ll bet it sounds awesome, but I thought it only existed as a prototype (?)
Do you have any soundclips of it?
Fender&EHX4everModeratorLast time I tried, I wasn’t able to make the design I wanted anymore 😥
Fender&EHX4everModeratorAs for the Deluxe Memory Man, I own 3 of them. It’s the most classic delay sound ever, and rivals the Big Muff Pi as Electro-Harmonix’s most popular pedal (at least at HCFX). You can’t go wrong with it.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:yea, i’m more interested in the deluxe mem man anyway. the 16 second delay looks bad ass too, but there’s no where i can demo it…any feedback on the 16 second delay? The strengths of the 16sec DD (or features not available on the DMM or the SMMH):
1. It has a click track that allows you to time your loops to measures, rather than just seconds. It gives you a 4 beat count-in before the looping begins so you can anticipate the tempo.
2. The internal clock can be synced by MIDI to a drum machine
3. It has magna storage, which means that you can save a recording in the device even after powering down.
4. The modulation section has control over both rate and depth. You can get chorus, flange, rotary, and pitch bending warble.
5. You have the option to record a loop for a set # of measures, and when the measure is completed, you can keep playing and it will automatically start dubbing over the part you just played for the first loop. You can keep layering into infinity.
6. If you have the foot controller (which is very hard to find, but the HOG foot controller also works with it), you can turn the modulation off/on during the performance. The modulation does not record into the loop.If you decide to go with the 16sec DD, ask first if the “4 beat count-inl” mod has already been done to the unit. EHX will do this mod for you for an additional $30 +/-, but the later models already have it added. It allows you to record a loop without the 4 beat count-in, like the SMMH, by setting the Course slider at maximum.
Also, be very careful with the sliders. They are fragile. This is one of the drawbacks of EHX pedals that use sliders instead of knobs.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorI have the 16sec DD, the Stereo Memory Man with Haz, and the Deluxe Memory Man. They all have their strengths, and are different beasts not only in features, but in tone as well.
The best bang for your buck would probably be the Stereo Memory Man with Haz. I would try that one first. It also does sound on sound looping. In fact, you can use the delay on it while looping simultaneously. Amazing box!
April 3, 2009 at 9:51 pm in reply to: should I run the LPB 2ube before or after my multi-effects? #95219Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:Hello,Just need some advice on the placement of my LPB 2ube stereo preamp, Should I run it before or after my multi effects pedal?. Any and all advice would be great ! , Thanks, Johnny Banjo
As silly as it sounds, try it both ways and see which sounds better. My first inclination would be to place it after a digital multi-effects unit, and use it as a boost. Also, you get the benefit of using the tubes to warm up the signal after the digital processing of the multi-effects unit.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorI made another clip of the non-Muff Fuzz version of the Crying Tone. This one includes some other pedals in combination:
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:nice.
I think I’ll go for it then,
cheers Fender.Enjoy! BTW, my favorite setting:
LP/BP switch = LP
Attack switch = 2
Range knob = max
Q knob = maxThis will give you the fattest and most dramatic filter – very vocal!
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:I’ve never heard a tube phaser, but I’d be all over trying it.I’ve always wanted to try one of these, but I’d much rather have the Tube Bad Stone
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:just another idea…what happened to the Clockwork, Mini Synth and all those Space Drums?? YOU GOTTA COMBINE THE INTO THE ULTIMATE DRUM MACHINE!!!!I agree completely: https://www.ehx.com/forums/viewthread/40/
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:the bottom two images have questions on the right but on my browser i am not able to see; the images are cut off on the right. please download the images by right clicking to view the full imageQuestion 1:
Where does this wire end up? It ends up at the top right terminal of the fuzz switch. It shares that terminal with the tan wire that ends up at the bottom terminal of the wah switch, and the blue wire mentioned in Question 2.
Where does this blue wire end up? It ends up at the bottom terminal of the fuzz switch.Question 2:
This black wire where does it go? To the top left terminal of the fuzz switch.
Are they the same? Where does this go? to the switch? Yes, the same. The blue wire runs from the Mode selector to the top right terminal of the fuzz switch, where it shares that terminal with 2 other wires as mentioned in Question 1.
What are hooked up to the switch? Answered above.Question 3
Switch wire, where does this wire go? That’s the tan wire that ends at the top right terminal of the fuzz switch. Again, it shares that terminal with the white and blue wires.Fender&EHX4everModeratorI am so jealous
I’ve been lusting after a Vox Starstream or Ultrasonic for a long time. One day I hope to afford one.

…anyways, if I could choose any effect to build into my guitar?
It should be something that I would normally put early in my effects chain, like a pitch shifter or a filter. How about a built-in H.O.G.?
