The Deluxe Electric Mistress only has continuous adjustment over rate, depth, and feedback. The Polychorus has continuous adjustment over 4 different parameters- rate, depth, feedback, and tune/delay. The tune/delay is particularly useful, because it allows you to adjust the amount of delay time of the modulated signal. The delay time is preset for you on the SC and the DEM.
the deluxe electric mistress has trimpots inside for delay, feedback limit, bias and something else that’s useful which i can’t remember – change the ones you like into real pots and you’ve got something that sounds better than the polychorus and offers more control
I have 2 Electric Mistress and I love ’em both, but I’m not sure I want to go drilling into the enclosures. In no way was I saying that the PolyFlange and the Stereo PolyChorus are better than the Electric Mistress, Small Clone, or Deluxe Memory Man. I’m just saying that it is unique, and not redundant.
if i play thro headphones there it is buzzing in the background. I had an idea today to put lesser high gain tubes in and see if it made a difference. Well it did but the volume dropped by half! and it wasn’t even compressing. So I am like you here I really don’t know what it is??? Any ideas anyone?
I just wonder, does anyone else notice this buzz and do you have any idea what it might be?? Or…. is it just the nature of the beast?
I’ll have to test mine to listen if mine has this problem. I’ve never noticed it before, and I’m hoping I won’t
Have to say, I am a little gutted that I bought the original Worm now the XO version is out. I love my pedal but being able to add an expression pedal sounds like a whole load of new creative fun has just been unleashed for the same cash!!
The older version still looks cooler , and they’ll be harder and harder to come by in the coming years.
