Here’s a great Bowie song chock full of phasing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfUhzzwyxww
Fender&EHX4everModeratorLOL
You guys and your nano pedalboards. :thumb:
Fender&EHX4everModeratorI don’t know about the differences in the circuits and the stages, but:
version 1 has a rate knob, a blend knob (which I assume controls the ratio of the dry and effected signals), and a color switch (which I assume switches between 2 fixed values of feedback, like the small stone).
version 3 has a rate knob, feedback knob (which might as well have been a 2 way switch, because it’s really tough to distinguish any continuous difference from about 0 -75%), and a manual knob that allows you to replace the rate knob and control your own oscillation.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:Personally for me I fell in love with the sound after first hearing Pink floyd
“speak to me/breathe” from Dark side of the moon when I was a wee lad.Yes, excellent, though it’s always been pointed out to me that technically Gilmour used a Univibe on that.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:I see so many people using phasers but I just wonder. Why a phaser? What do you use your phaser for?
I love phaser, but especially EHX phasers. Lots of great songs out there using phaser:
David Bowie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLqJJmmB-dA
Cocteau Twins: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yna3wMFi_W4
Rolling Stones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JBQI2kD4FM

Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:I see one for mod depth, is there a speed on anywhere? [I’m not willing to go fishing with store stock]The stock modulation is pretty unusable by a lot of people who have been trying it out.
I was wondering the same. That would be cool, but if not, then that’s what the Memory Boy is for.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:it makes you sound like a dalek……………..LOL
Dr. Who nerd alert :thumb:
Fender&EHX4everModeratorCongrats on your terrific find! I’m glad you rescued it from doom.
I would first try compressor > octaver > Big Muff Pi > chorus
RonSound’s article should give you some help in dating it: http://electroharmonix.ronsound.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=45
Fender&EHX4everModeratorIt probably needs a trimpot alignment; otherwise, if you have a 10 Band Graphic EQ, you could probably pull it out around 16kHz.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorThey are quite different sounding, as dirt pedals go. The Germ OD is very bright and crisp. The Muff Fuzz is quite dark and sort of muddy. Both sound great depending on the context used.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:Inside trimpot/s?Yep, the burning question is, can you customize your own modulation rate?
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:Any body think I’ll get a good price on ebay? Most likely. I wish I could bid on them, but for the money I’d rather pick up a Bi-Filter right now
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:Do you think I should contact EHX, since it’s under warranty?Absolutely. I’ve had only great experiences with their customer support.
Have you already tried running your guitar direct into the Wiggler, then from the Wiggler direct to your amp? This will tell you if there are any issues with the other pedals running in series with the Wiggler.
Also, have you tried using different cables when connecting the Wiggler?
Fender&EHX4everModeratorI’ve owned 2 different Wigglers, and neither had any noise issues; so that isn’t normal.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:hi!I have one with Blue Lettering and “silver” background. Also couldn’t find anything about it on the net. Not even a picture.
It works fine and I love it.
I wonder if someone knows the year this guys were manufactured…!!!?!best
There are so many versions of the Memory Man (without even getting into the many variations of the Deluxe Memory Man), it’s really tough to pinpoint an exact year. The vintage units were made between 1976 and 1983, that much is clear. And the mono chorus option was probably introduced around 1978.
Is the second output a 1) boost in, 2) a direct out, or 3) a stereo out?
Is the slide switch a 1)boost on, or 2) an echo/chorus switch? -
