Yes, the barrel knobs were used interchangably with the pointer knobs back in the late 70s / early 80s.
My vintage PolyFlange, Bad Stone, and Deluxe Big Muff Pi all have the barrel knobs.Fender&EHX4everModeratorCongrats, DiscoFreq!
Those reverse graphic LBMPs don’t come up very often. I’ve seen them maybe twice in the last few years. The blue is so much sexier than the brown and yellow fudgepop versions. I’m guessing that one is an IC version.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorQuote:Quote:The question now is, should I sell the Memory Boy to make way for the Deluxe?I’m keeping mine, if only for the square-wave modulation.
It looks like the Deluxe has it too. The Depth knob changes shape past 12 noon.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorThe question now is, should I sell the Memory Boy to make way for the Deluxe?
Fender&EHX4everModeratorI’m not an engineer, but wouldn’t that mean putting some kind of an amp circuit in every pedal?
And if that were true, then would you have pedal-geeks saying, “I don’t like the preamp in those pedals?” much like pedal-geeks often say, “I don’t like the buffers in those pedals?”
And then we’d be back to, “I wish the Hoax didn’t have that preamp built-in so I could use my ****** preamp instead.”
Lots of pedal-geeks already complain about the DMM’s preamp, for example.
Someone please clarify.
Fender&EHX4everModeratorThe trend seems to be going in the direction of stereo inputs and outputs. This makes sense to me since so many great effects are in stereo. It’s also better for guys who want to experiment with unconventional effects sequences, like putting reverb before distortion. Or, you could just split between 2 separate distortions.

and 2 of these for stereo effects:
Fender&EHX4everModeratorMost likely Howard Davis could do a modification. I would ask him. http://howard.davis2.home.att.net/

I love my Crash Pad and my Soul Kiss. I wish I could find the others too, especially the Guitar Synth .
Fender&EHX4everModeratorThe sound card would be the component to worry about. Try to find out what the model number of your soundcard is, and check the specs to see if it’s up to snuff.
You’d probably get better results if you record your tracks to something like the EHX 2880, export the files over to your computer, then mix the files down in Audacity.

LOL Not to derail the Memory Man thread, but typically the biggest egos of any band are metal guitarists. The wattage of their amps usually correlate with the size of their ego. I’ll trade them for a singer with an ego any day. At least my ear drums will still be intact after the rehearsal

Melx’ idea is also excellent.
