excellent job!
FantabulousNoiseMemberhey everybody
you’ve all been very helpful
I went to the shop where my lester was being set up and tried out the Peavey to check the work on the guitar and see what it sounded like
I couldn’t really play loud – but I liked what I heard
I could coax a nice low level overdrive sound out of the preamp as it has 2 gain controls in addition to the volume as well as the option of putting another valve in the circuit as a gain stage
the reverb was pretty good too – just sounded like an amp reverb really so I am well pleased in that regard
I’m a University Student right now – so hopefully I’ll get a cafe job in the summer
If I worked full time for one month on minimum wage I could more than afford the Peavey – and I think it would punch exactly the right weight for me
FantabulousNoiseMemberyou’ve all been so helpful!
the shop my guitar is being worked on has a Classic 30
so I’ll try it when I go to pay them for the work and collect it
FantabulousNoiseMemberthanks for the replies!
I’m in the UK and so Silver Faces don’t seem plentiful
Will bear the Hot Rod in mind
though I have a fear that in the UK I would be paying an unacceptable premium for the brand if I went with a Fender
hmm, if I am going to work to get an amp it would be a waste to go too cheap and feel the need for a new one off of the bat
thanks for the opinions, I know it’s a rather pedestrian topic but I really value any input
FantabulousNoiseMemberintrigued by LPB-1 into Big Muff
any chance of a demo on that one?
pretty please?
FantabulousNoiseMemberHey I’m new here too
Got a little Big Muff this week – my first pedal barring my tuner
love it – been playing Cherub Rock through it a fair amount
pity about my amp…

I didn’t realise that the Wicker worked in a similar way to “treble bleed” circuitry in guitars
nice that the new Muff can be both more subtle and heavier
versatility!
