yay! nice one Grim.
electro-melxModeratorQuote:It was a short set. Mainly ‘instrumental’. Just guitar and drums. He had 2 Tele’s and 2 old Marshall stacks that were DEFINITELY turned up to 11! It was a small venue too. He snapped the strings on his first guitar and had to play his spare. My eardrums will never be the same again (seriously!).The Eagles of Death Metal all came out and joined them for ‘New Rose’ which was pretty cool
ha, that sounds well cool.
electro-melxModeratorQuote:Quote:Got to see The Damned again too (who were supporting) so it was a good night..Saw Rat Scabies and Brian James supporting ‘Eagles of Death Metal’ recently.
They were so loud that I now have permanent tinnitus!
lol, what are they up to? they don’t play in The Damned anymore, it’s just The Captain and Dave left of the originals. I did really enjoy the Damned though, they played a lot of the old Psych and garage stuff… they did a few covers of songs off those ‘nuggets’ albums and ‘Eloise’ sounded really good these days.
electro-melxModeratorI haven’t seen anyone this year yet, but I’m sure things will pick up no we are heading into summer.
Last band I was was Motorhead in november last year… and yeah they still as good as ever. Got to see The Damned again too (who were supporting) so it was a good night.. last year I also saw … Supersuckers, Nashville Pussy, Bob Mould, Brendan Benson, Wildhearts, Swervedriver and probably few others that I can’t recall right now, I usually try to see at least one band every couple of months. I like a lot of American bands though so it really depends if (and when) they come over to the UK.
electro-melxModeratoryou’ll get a definite answer here.
electro-melxModeratorQuote:Ok, thank you..i was just curious. I asked a similar question the other day, to the tech staff at MXR about one of thier pedals i own..and according to them..even though the pedal is rated at 9V, they said running at 18V should be ok and i’d hear more headroom and clarity. So, ya never know till ya ask. heh hehI’d like to think they gave me good information, and aren’t trying to have me ruin that pedal intentionally,so i have to buy a new one.
“should be ok”? I don’t know if I would be happy with that reply to be honest, some pedals are designed to work at different voltages, most are not. If that MXR pedal has ‘more headroom and clarity’ at 18v then you have to ask yourself why it isn’t sold with an 18v power supply or dual battery clips?
electro-melxModeratorI’m not sure, because it’s a momentary switch it doesn’t click like the on/off switch will. Unless you can see something obvious wrong inside the pedal it’s probably not something you are going to be able to fix yourself to be honest and if the tap tempo is working then I’d guess it’s not the switch.
electro-melxModeratoryeah, I’d imagine they are a standard mini toggle. PCB mounting I prsume.
electro-melxModeratorIt’s to compensate for the EHX pedals that have a volume drop.
electro-melxModeratorI think those are a pretty standard size…
..like these here.

…oh, hang on, is it the new nano version? if so, sorry I’ve not seen what they look like inside.
electro-melxModeratoror UK24DC-100 in the UK …… available here

..hotrox.
electro-melxModeratorTry one of the following
1. Spray switch with contact cleaner (available from electronics shops etc)
2. Replace switch (if the cleaner doesn’t work and you are confident soldering)
3. Return it back to the shop where you bought it (for exchange or repair depending on the time you’ve had it)
4. Send it to EHX for repair under warranty (contact ehx) https://www.ehx.com/about/contact
5. Send it to EHX for repair outside of warranty (contact ehx) https://www.ehx.com/about/contactelectro-melxModeratorYou need to take it to an amp specialist (or the shop where you bought it) if you aren’t sure what you are doing, the stored voltages in tube amps can kill you, so I can’t really recommend poking around inside unless you know exactly what you are doing.
try here.
…..also moved to ‘lounge’
electro-melxModeratorContact the shop and return it. I wouldn’t advise poking around with a new pedal.
