could be anything almost… if there’s no led or anything it sounds like there’s no power, have you checked the battery snap is connected and not broken or anything? battery good?
if you want open it up and see if there’s any wires disconnected, post some pictures if you can, we might be able to see something.
August 29, 2010 at 7:04 pm in reply to: Octave multiplexer – simulating bass guitar with standard guitar? #111140electro-melxModeratorYou can, but in my experience the micropog does octave down much better… unless you like glitchy analogue mess.
electro-melxModeratorI think you guys really need to try one, there’s really nothing confusing about it in use. It’s a tone shaping tool that really can make humbuckers sound like a stratocaster. Don’t think of it as boosting anything volume wise, think of it as ‘changing the treble’ rather than ‘boosting treble’ for example.
It’s a bit like turning a ‘mid sweep’ control on a parametric EQ, it changes the sound of the mids rather than boosting/cutting them like a regular mids knob.
I know nothing about the technical side of it, but that’s how it seemed to work in practice.
electro-melxModeratorWelcome to the forum Lee, we’re a pretty friendly bunch.
electro-melxModeratorOK, just sent you a message, there is a tick box at the bottom for ‘store copy in my sent folder’ if you don’t tick that you won’t see anything in the sent folder.
electro-melxModeratorthey should work… I’ll PM you so you can see.
electro-melxModeratorQuote:OK Thanks,I live with an electrical engineer, that might be able to take a look and fix it, do you have any idea what it could be, before he starts? or could it be an a number of different things?
Thanks for your time,
Rob
it could honestly be anything… you could have a look inside and see if there is any obvious loose wires…
if not this guy
http://www.owenelectronics.co.uk/
is in the UK and is very reasonable for repairs.
electro-melxModeratormost squier’s are ‘swimming pool’ routed because they use the same bodies for all the different models.
….. or just unscrew the pickguard and take a look!!!! ??????????
electro-melxModeratorProbably not an ‘Iconic’ track to you guys but of of my favorite musicians ‘John Kastner’ .. (that’s the Canadian vocalst/ Guitarist from Doughboys, All Systems Go, solo artist and soundtrack music bloke) .. is a an EHX user…
this is a screen capture from this All Systems go video ‘all I want’
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OONZqMsfhuw
and there’s the video.
The song is from their self titled album ‘All Systems Go’ so I’d suspect there’s more EHX sounds on that album!!
electro-melxModeratorQuote:also if you’re really busted up about not having it, your local hardware store can probably help you determine what size you need.I expect they leave them off because the switch is soldered directly to the PCB and over tightening the nut could potentially cause stress and damage to the solder joints of the switch. If you do put one on I wouldn’t tighten it up too much.
electro-melxModeratorthey aren’t glued but they are tight (pushed on with a machine) if they aren’t quite straight it might be better to give them a push onto the shaft (with a bit of pressure) rather than trying to pull them off, that might straighten them out I’d suspect that they aren’t sitting right down.
electro-melxModerator12AY7 Mic Pre = cup of tea….
….well it rhymes anyway. :freak:

It shouldn’t make any difference when you are daisy chaining. It’s just a different type connector not a reversal of polarity, a one-spot doesn’t care what type of connector you are using providing the positive wire of the power supply is connected to the positive on the pedal…. which it should be.

electro-melxModeratorQuote:Is there anyway I can email someone at EH that could help me?yeah, send them an email.
