electro-melxModeratorYou should be able to find a 100k reverse log (C) from any good electronics supplier. ‘Many days’? it took me 10 seconds to find this..

electro-melxModeratorAwesome!
can you still buy these??
electro-melxModeratorSounds like a bad ground connection somewhere in the pedal, personally I’d return it.. only because everything is soldered to the the PCB traces, with an old style pedal like a Big Muff it’s easier to see where the ground wires are and what the connections are like on the jacks etc, but unless you really know what you are doing I wouldn’t mess around with an XO pedal.
Sorry this isn’t more positive!
December 22, 2012 at 7:05 pm in reply to: Deluxe Memory Man with Tap Tempo vs. Deluxe Memory Boy #118570electro-melxModeratoryup that’s the difference basically, they just sound a bit different because of the analogue delay IC’s used … use your ears to decide if it’s worth the extra money.
… on the other points… The Staff of EHX rarely come here to answer questions, 99% of the admin here (myself included) are just volunteers and are just regular guitar/bass etc players like yourselves, because of this we don’t have the money to buy all EHX effects so we’d probably just own one or the other or not at all, so answering questions like this are often difficult or impossible. This forum should not be mistaken for ‘EHX tech support’ really.. it’s really a forum where EHX users can offer advice and help to each other. If you want to contact EHX best advice is to do so directly.

electro-melxModeratorQuote:Since it has a noise gate wouldn’t that mean you’d want to put it at the end of your chain? To get the gate effect I mean. Or do I not understand the way those work?when I used one briefly (with guitar) I put it first, the problem with putting it after other pedals is when you turn them on it messes up the gate setting … any gain or volume increase (or decrease) will alter when the gate opens and closes. So you set the gate up perfectly for when you have overdrive on (which is when you really want it) then when you turn the drive off the gate setting is totally wrong. … in the end I just sold it because whatever I did it never seemed to work how I wanted it to. So having the gate turn on and off with the fuzz on this pedal is actually a really good idea. (presuming that’s what it does)

December 19, 2012 at 11:34 pm in reply to: different prices on Memory Man’s?!?!?!?! and other delay suggestions please. #116065electro-melxModeratoryup, digital effects are usually cheaper to manufacture. The Haz can do all that stuff because it’s just programming, it’s not like having to design and build another part of the circuit. if you want the DMM sound how about waiting out for a good used one? imo nothing else really sounds quite like one.
December 13, 2012 at 3:03 pm in reply to: Looking for an Electro-Harmonix 2880 Super Multi-track Looper or the closest product to. #118530electro-melxModeratorYes it was recently discontinued but there should still be some around in shops, I don’t know where you are in the world but Thomann in Germany have them in stock, they ship worldwide but might not be ideal if you aren’t in the UK or EU.
PMT in the UK have them too.
If you are in the US it might be worth having another look at the bigger online shops that carry a larger stock, I can’t imagine nowhere has one.
electro-melxModeratorbest thing to do is just use the correct UK power supply .. they are £14 from hotrox
http://www.hotroxuk.com/electro-harmonix-uk24v-100ma-power-supply.html
you could use a US to UK adaptor but it would have to be a 240v/110v converter too, not just a plug adapter …. you can buy cheap ones of these on ebay for around £8 but in the long run, it might be safer to spend the extra on the power supply.
electro-melxModeratoryup, exactly that.. 2000 until about 2003/4/5 probably…. I don’t know exactly when they changed back to cardboard as there were still wooden boxed ones in some shops (with a slower turnover) for a year or two after the card ones were around. Yours will be one of the later wooden boxed ones as the first reissues had the pointer knobs… at a guess I’d say it’s 8-10 years old.
electro-melxModeratorseems odd to me, I’ve not tried the nano but I have the original and it’s one of my favourite overdrives in ‘single’ mode. There’s 2 points here.. it’s correct that in single mode the knob acts as a volume control, but it should work as a volume control for the overdrive (the amount of drive is ‘fixed’).. but it’s not a clean volume boost at all.
I am driving mine with medium output humbuckers though, but even taking that into account, there’s no way it should be clean with single coils… the ‘muff fuzz’ (of which this is two of cascaded) is a pretty gritty little beast. you should at least get a gritty vintage drive sound in single mode.

skip to about 1:30 to hear it in single mode.
electro-melxModeratoran ehx one is £12 from hotrox…. I wouldn’t use a universal one with switchable polarity… it’s too easy to accidently give it the wrong Voltage or polarity by mistake and damage the pedal.
electro-melxModeratorI’m from England, UK.
more specifically
this place…
